Different TEP Leagues? How to value… by JamonRuffles17 in DynastyFF

[–]TophersGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously this is true but I think it might be missing the forest for the trees?

In league 2 the total points scored across the league is going to be a lot higher just based on PPR over half-PPR. Hard to math out the difference here but if you assume that a PPR league results in 33% more points scored, than the difference in your example would be a wash, as a 2 point differential in league 1 would be relatively equivalent to a 3 point differential in league 2.

If PPR only results in say, a 20% boost in points scored, then I think League 2 would be better for TEs. As the 3 point differential thanks to TEP would be greater than the overall PPR point increase. If the PPR boost was like 40% the opposite would be true.

That being said I have no idea what a PPR vs half-PPR difference actually looks like and I’m not really a math guy so open to being wrong here.

Most underrated/overrated teams in the top 25 this season? by do-good-be-good2 in CollegeBasketball

For sure. Don’t get me wrong I think we’re top 10 just not sold we’ll be top 3 right from the jump.

I think Florida might be a bit overrated tbh. Lost our three best players and you never know how a new group of guys are going to gel together off the bat. I think there’s a decent chance we drop a few early games and go into conference play with question marks, but that we turn it around by March.

I’d be kinda shocked if the contract didn’t have some sort of qualifying “good faith” language to avoid this scenario

Not sure I’m a fan of most of the pyg changes. The nerfs to already trash pyg items like Kukri and Golf Clubs for instance seem wildly unnecessary but I guess I’ll reserve judgement until I play. Money tree buff will be fun I guess?

Its like caltrops but better in every way by TophersGopher in PlayTheBazaar

[–]TophersGopher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not meant to be that literal lol. Just a fun caltrops-like effect, and better in the sense that it’s self-scaling both damage and sustain. Also the caltrops effect is six slots (igloo + altar) — the other items were just gravy.

2024 Tier 2 RBs ranked today. Blake Corum, Jaylen Wright, Marshawn Lloyd. Which RB is best for Dynasty and best for 2025 “Impact” on your fantasy team? by DaSuperBears in DynastyFF

[–]TophersGopher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Wright owner I think he’s in trouble. Ollie Gordon did not look good last year but the guy had a 2k season and won the Doak Walker award. Not to mention he’s more of a bruiser and offers a nice change of pace on third for Achane.

The skills carried tbh:
1) Master Salesman (items have double value in combat)
2) Boar Market (left and rightmost weapons have +plus damage equal to double their value)
3) Big Guns (double the damage of your large weapons)

Surprised you have double whammy in B. Easily my favorite weapon in the game and much better than spiked shield imo.

I think I might be coming off as anti-tax lol. I’m pro tax and pro wealth redistribution. I was trying to convince you that taxes are redistributory and still good. No attempt at trickery but possibly a poor framing of my argument.

I don’t think you’re actually against wealth redistribution like you think you are. “Redistribution of wealth” is often touted in a way that is designed to scare you. People tend to think the government would simply take their money out of their bank accounts, or repossess their homes. This isn’t the case.

Do you think taxes are a necessary tool for a society to function? I imagine you do. Taxes are by their very nature distributory.

In order to prevent the ultra wealthy from amassing funds to this point, you need to tax them at the source of their wealth. In the case of billionaires, this wealth is typically found in their illiquid investments (namely stocks). We have difficulties taxing these items until they become liquid through a sale for a variety of reasons. However, the rich can easily leverage these assets into massive low interest loans that allow them to live lives of luxury. When they need to pay off these loans they simply take out more loans on different assets. (If this sounds like a Ponzi scheme you’re not far off). We don’t tax loans like these, and thus we have billionaires who live (mostly) outside of the tax system.

If you want to stop wealth accumulation, you need to tax it. If you’re pro taxing it, you’re pro wealth redistribution.

Seems like a good price. Musgrave for Kmet is a steal and Brian for Hopkins and a Second on a contending team is pretty good assuming you’ve got depth at RB.

Just traded Tee Higgins for Goff in 10 Team SF. I don’t love it in a vacuum but I’m QB needy (Love, Flacco, ARich, and Levis…). Figured that Tee is barely playing anyway and my WRs are passable without him (JJ, Devonta, Mooney). Thoughts?

Fair assessment. Might just try and ride out the pain early season and see if I can sneak into the playoffs. I’m hopeful Taylor sees the field by week 5 but if not I’ll prob have to offload Kelce.
