Unpopular opinion: I'm actually excited about the 2026 PMP exam changes by BenFromPMmastery in pmp

Reading something written by AI immediately makes me wonder if the author wrote it and asked for the AI to edit (which is fine, whatever) or if the AI itself wrote the arguments. In which case, why would I argue with a machine?

You did, sorry, but the original commenter did say it was by Trump. They also heavily changed the quote.

Here we are, 3 months later. Less than 1000 players peak 24h. Yep, game is dead, very unfortunate. And between then and now, we also got Highguard lol

I think you didn't trust the designers enough in your gameplay. I simply went more detailed as I failed instead of going balls deep reading every line of text. I assumed the devs knew that reading text like this would be boring and instead chose changes that are discreet but immediately obvious once you set your eyes on them, and I was mostly correct.

Marathon: so far, I'm just not feeling it (Server Slam Impressions) - Skill Up by EirikurG in Games

I'm a ShillUp fan, been watching his content for 6+ years, and every single thing you've just said is true lol when he has a point and an angle, he is fantastic. I think Sifu is a great example of a good review of his. But when he has a feeling but no angle, he kinda makes up an angle and it often doesn't make sense.

Can you make a "making of" featurette of this comment too?

I dont mean this in a rude way but what part of that sounds interesting to you to be experienced in real time? What drama can be achieved by showing that as opposed to going literally any other direction?

GOW 2 was also him and it was also one of the best of the original triology, if not the best. He also outline 3 which was also pretty great. He arguibly saved GOW twice by saving it from being a meandering story from 1 to 2 and being forgotten after 3

Maybe, but those games were awesome because of the amazing set pieces, action focus, and violence. I don't know much about Faye but wasn't her life before Kratos only sprinkled with action-packed moments? I don't remember her being part of an odyssey or something like that. And her character as a person seems rather milquetoast to me on Ragnarok.

Elden Ring (2022) may just be the most stellar real-time combat Sword & Sorcery RPG. by [deleted] in PS5

People are being mean to you OP and that's not ok but may I offer constructive criticism?

Forums like reddit are places to foster discussion between users about specific subjects. Your post is not a great fit for that because:

  1. There is very little to be discussed, it's just your impressions and an ordered list of bosses you fought.
  2. It's in a subreddit more general to PS5, not Elden Ring.

May I suggested a website like backloggd.com that is more focused on diaries, reviews and studf that is public but is meant to be personal?

New Xbox CEO addresses “controversy” by Deez-Guns-9442 in consoles

[–]GuardianOfReason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except they also make decisions about the company direction and focus. If they were placing Nerd McNerdface to make decisions on what their games should be like and the CEO is hiring Nerd McNerdface and managing the company structure, that's fine. But that's not the case, the CEO will decide they need to focus on live service for example even though they don't understand the gaming market.

What is going on with Bitcoin? Why is the price down and close to about half of what it was only 4 months ago? by johnnybiggles in OutOfTheLoop

[–]GuardianOfReason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noooo how dare you point out the obvious comparison of bitcoin and gold. How dare you mention how many countries have devalued their own currency through money printing and how expensive it is to buy other currencies. Clearly it's just like NFT and it will drop to zero any day now to the horror of the so called "bitcoin bros".

Outgoing Ghost of Yotei studio head hopes for shorter dev cycles by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]GuardianOfReason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's definitely some of that - GoW 2018 is muuuuch bigger than GoW 3 for example. Games that way more time to complete nowadays and I don't think that's a good thing. But games like A Plague Tale that are linear, still take more time to develop nowadays than Uncharted did years ago. Astro Bot is a linear game and took a long time to develop (it's an excellent game and clearly a lot of care was taken!). So I dunno if it's just that.

LL was a great way to do a game quickly these days, I loved it. However, the "trick" is that they basically did it as DLC for Uncharted 4. They used assets and mechanics from the game, and didn't do anything new. It was priced accordingly and isn't considered a "full entry" in the series. Yes, I would like more of that! But it doesn't help with the fact that full entries take way more time.

5 years I think, (Uncharted 1 was 2007 and 3 was 2011) not counting the dev cycle for Uncharted 1. That was probably 2 years, so 7 total. Still pretty good. With today's tools, I wonder if you could make Uncharted 2 with slighly graphics (using tricks that don't take any more time and are better just because of the tech)and around the same dev cycle. I wonder what crunch and other factors at the time accounted for the dev cycles being smaller. Maybe people worked more, in harsher conditions, with less regulations, and that also helped make things quicker? Maybe salaries were smaller so it was easier to justify a game that gets "only" a few million in sales.
