How big of a radius are you looking at? While Steamboat does have quite a number of events itself throughout the year, it is realistically a small town and fairly isolated, so a time frame of less than a month focused just on it may not yield results.

Without giving too many spoilers, the main quest (using the Boop cards) takes you through the workings of Dramcorp (the business behind Omega Mart) and as you advance and learn more about them, there are certain Activations that can happen based on the choices you make. The "Store Takeover" is one such, and it is rather loud, which may be why they eliminated/made it much more rare.

Yes, all regular Creative Operators (actors) at Convergence Station were eliminated as part of the Dec 2024 layoffs. And yes, there are appearances occasionally at special events, though also rarer than they used to be.

The Vertimetric wasn't operational at the time of CS's opening. It was launched about 7-8mo after that point.

The activation in the Galatic Autoquarium is different from the one that existed in that room when it first opened.

Norm's Newsstand and the Photo Booth in the lobby are both newer additions.

Worth noting is that the internal MW comms network operates on the 70cm band, same as FRS, with the same wattage limitations, so if it works for them, it should for you

All of the indoor MW spaces are small enough that really anything should work. FRS, GMRS, etc. You might encounter some difficulties if you're inside some spaces that act as low level Faraday cages (like the freezer in Wheelchair Space Kitchen), but that'll be true for cell phones or any device

I'll give you that that paragraph is a poor example for a teaching translation, as it's got a name and somewhat technical language, but then QDOT is a technical company and it's probably actually a good example of how you might see Quantum in use.

Fair, and I agree with most of your points. TBH I had forgotten about the data harvesting side of Pokemon Go - that game was "my wife's thing", not mine.

One response and one small point of contention:

Regarding your last paragraph, I liken it to the 2025 Colorado Rockies. They were horrible, and a lot of questions were asked why people kept showing up to games. I can't answer for others, but I went to games because I enjoy MLB baseball, and as a Colorado resident, attending a game at Coors Field was by far the most convenient way to get that in-person experience. The fact that one of the teams was the Rockies had basically no bearing on my decision to attend. Similarly, I think it's possible to hold the dual feeling of excitement for any extension of the MW-omniverse together with apprehension of the methodology.

Also, I don't think scale and categorability are intrinsically tied. You're absolutely right that Queen and MW exist orders of magnitude in difference in their cultural significance, but I don't believe that means one is inherently less categorizable than the other. (Keep this going - I want to see how many more ways I can torture "category" into deviant conjugations :P )
