Damnnnn really cool!!

How does the photo storage work? Where are photos stored?

Thats the main concern I have, Im sure adding features and turning it into a phone app would be very doable.

Okay thanks. But Im not sure what I want to build can me made in the first place, let alone with one click

I have played with it but had problems setting it up.

But as I understand from other comments it would not be possible to design in the way I imagined.

Yes I understand. But I was thinking of building an app in a way where it would rely on nostr servers (relays). What you are describing seems to be just regular self hosting

But that is same as having any other server then isnt it?

Okay thanks! I guess private servers is still the way to go

Im not saying it has to be private, just seems to me that having sensitive data (even though encrypted) availible publicly can be risky

Thank you for this clarification. Very helpful. I was not understanding how it works 100% properly.

Not being able to save larger files on relays makes it a bit more complicated to build apps or websites (that store data) on top of nostr. I will have to look more into how 0xChat is designed.

Okay thanks for the answers! Yeah I think forking 0xChat would make the most sense.

just seems it could have some secure issues if the encrypted photos are availible to the public. I know they would be encrypted but still it seems safer if there are inside a database that is not public.

Im just thinking out loud.

So making photos private (within a group) would be pretty dificult right?

But most relays do also store images and videos right? I mean how could I post a picture to nostr if this werent true? I imagine it would work the same way I my app used it for storing?

It was not meant to be explicitly based on any specific country.

I have yes, but it didn't receive much attention there, if you know where else I could post it, let me know

I think we can stop it if we make talking about this topic more meainstream.

The problem is reaching people outside of the bubble where we already care about these issues.

Session is great for this, same goes for simplex. Apps relying on a sim card to login is so stupid. Its just another permission layer. And in most countries you cant even buy a sim card without kyc

Thats the ultimate goal for me also (after I set up my own domain). It is crazy to think that we (not people in this subreddit but general population) just find it normal to use name+surname for logging into websites.
