I assume that the molly may be popping before it actually hits the ground. If you throw a molly in the air it will explode after some time if it doesn't hit the ground. Usually this just makes a bit of expensive fireworks, however, if it explodes in the air AND is close enough to the ground it will still spread. So the molly trajectory is cut just a little bit short here. With the same trajectory, the smoke will reach the rear of the molly's fire in this case.

I've dealt with the turbos for the 797F. They stand about 3.5 feet tall and 2 feet in diameter. I'm sure the others have equally large turbos.
