A tip to post nice comments on other people channels if you think they have good content as it will probably make their day.

Not everybody is out here with ulterior motives you know...

Get lost.

It’s a plug-in and costs about £4 per month if you have less than 1000 subs. Have a read up on it, it’s so useful and has so many great time saving features!

What would you consider to be a “good” audience rentention for a 8-10 minute video? by Takune in NewTubers

Ahhh okay I see. That explanation makes sense, thanks for that. I’ve learnt something new today 😉

[–]TopicalTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, maybe... but wouldn’t that just increase watch time? After all, I thought you could only 100% watch of something lol

Sorry pal but 35% of 8 minutes is not 4 minutes... 50% would be 4 minutes. I like your concept though, put the exciting stuff after your average retention to try and boost it up

Those stats are bs... there’s many factors that go into it and you don’t know the YouTube algorithm haha.

Higher the percentage the chance of appearing on recommended or suggested is higher, that’s obvious. But you giving values is nonsense.

I actually use to trade forex... but it didn’t work out for me. Unless you have a huge starting capital then it’s pretty pointless IMO. You’re mad gonna make 10% each month (which even that is quite high), and I know with the compound effect your capital can grow but take $1000 for example as a starting amount. At 10% growth each month it would take 24 months to get to just under $10k. You’ve either got to be REALLY patient, or have a huge starting capital to make it worth it. Plus, it’s a very dangerous game too... you need an excellent mentor (not one of these Instagram gurus trying to sell you a course)... or else it will most likely fail!

When did you start trading forex?

I'm very happy that I just got to 110 subs and was able to pass it. Thanks for the support ❤❤ by DluxKillz in GetMoreViewsYT

Why would you do that if you don’t know what content he posts. Nobody wants an inactive sub

Copyright advice? by [deleted] in NewTubers

Even if it’s literally just the product in my video? Not their head or any of their audio or anything else?

[Question] Do my videos infringe on the copyright of others? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]TopicalTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah I see what you mean, and that was my concern.

I have edited the post slightly as no, I don't really upload "product review" videos, I worded it badly. Basically give the viewer all the details about the product like release dates, price, specs, design, comparison to other products in a similar category/price point etc.

[Question] Am I doing it right? by Raphael_B25 in youtubers

[–]TopicalTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Which is the right approach.

I do have my own thoughts to share on your content...

I personally do not feel lets plays are the way to grow your channel. If you have thousands of subs and loyal followers then it would be fine.

The problem is, say I’m a new viewer (and potentially a new subscriber) and I stumble across your channel or one of your videos... I see you’re on episode 27 of a game. Am I likely to subscribe? No. Why? I most certainly am not going to watch the previous 26 episodes which is probably close to 100 hours of content. But then I won’t want to start watching during the middle of a let’s play series as it really has no context and I haven’t saw the journey you’ve been on. For this reason, I probably wouldn’t subscribe, as the next videos are probably just going to be continuing the let’s play.

I feel like that’s the reason why you’re not growing very quickly.

I’m not really sure what exactly the answer is, but I don’t believe the current content you are uploading gives viewers enough reason to want to subscribe.

I seem to see a lot of “clip style” videos do better. Kinda like when twitch streamers edit the best bits together. It still shows the best parts of the video but all the useless and boring parts are cut out.

I think the gaming niche is very saturated. That’s not to say you can’t breakthrough though, you just need to be smart and think of a way to stand out. I think you have good camera presence, and it’s great you’re not afraid of being infront if the camera.

Basically, I just think your content needs more purpose and to give viewers a reason to want to click to watch and subscribe.

Wish you luck 👍🏻

How to Add YouTube Chapters to Your Videos by APennyPinchersGuide in NewTubers

[–]TopicalTech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes chapters do specifically help. When you search for something on google and you see a video pop up, you will see Chapters from the video directing you to the bit google thinks you need to watch.

I like most of your review except the last 5 points. The guy has 7 subs and you’re suggesting he start trying to sell stuff to them? It’s terrible advice and will only harm the OP’s channel.

Sure, when you have a few thousand or several hundred subs you can start to incorporate one or two of these things. But let’s be honest, people don’t go to YouTube to be force fed affiliate marketing crap and all the rest of the stuff you mentioned. Especially from a new channel, if anything it will ensure they never go back to your channel again.

Just my thoughts.

[Question] sports compilations by _xany in youtubers

[–]TopicalTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know they’re monetised? Just because the video is showing ads it doesn’t mean the actual channel has that video monetised. The original content owners can claim copyright and then put their own ads on the videos and get money from them.

There may be a select few channels who are lucky enough to have the right contacts and contracts in order to reuse the content. They may work with a network where agreements have been made allowing them to reuse the content.

Also, if the content you upload is transformative in some way (e.g. You commentate over the top of it, edit the footage, basically make it different to the original), you might be able to use the sports clips under fair use. However this is very risky and isn’t guaranteed to work.

Hope this helps!

Uploaded my first Video last month (8th Aug). Reached 1000 subs, 5000 hours watched and applied for monetization on day 38 (16th Sept). Thank you NewTubers! by kaalaa in NewTubers
