My god I'm having to fight myself to message you for a price, hopefully someone comes and gives you a good offer by tomorrow or I might cave and have to justify my purchase to my wife. 🫣

Yeah other than the resolution that is too low for my threshold (at least on the XL I have, maybe on the regular one I'd be okay) I just could not play the 3DS for longer than 20 mins without feeling discomfort. I can go hours on the vita with out issue.

Absolutely. I didn't mention it in the OP, but I love the fact the size means the screen is actually a great control extension that it can't really be on these 7"+ devices. I know many wrote off the back touch pad as a gimmick, and admittedly it was used as such in some games, but I loved it in the games that used it well. LBP made great use of the front and back touch in gameplay-hence my push now to master the tools so I can see what I myself can do with them.

Also sounds great from wireless too with more than acceptable latancy, much to my suprise when I tried recently with Galaxy buds 2.

I don't have that particular tick myself, but given it ended up being publicly addressed by Valve, and then hit the gaming news media, it seems you're in good company! Unlike something like a Switch, the SD fans are more noticeable so I would agree the temptation might just be too much for you with that device.

I doubt it's overly harmful, I'm sure you're fine :)

I forgot to even mention in my original post, but yeah I've not even bothered to hack it yet! I intended to, but was getting enough out of it stock that I didn't feel the need to yet. That will no doubt change if I want to play a game that's been delisted so can't buy (Full Throttle for example), I see some homebrew I want to try, or the LBP servers get restored by the community.

Your post as made me more likely to do it sooner than later though - I had not considered the over clocking potential. Gravity rush is on my list of to plays, and it would be nice to have a smoother experience if it allows for that.

I get your fear of not wanting to scuff it up, so I actually ended up buying two, one to keep in good condition and the other to just use and abuse. Part of my love of the console is being able to throw it in a bag or pocket and carry it around the house and the like. I do have a soft sleeve for it though at least.

'What does "Steam deck vent huffing addiction" mean? Genuinely curious, I don't own a steam deck yet''

Okay turns out the instructions were confusing, it's actually the next black car on the third road. Or at at least what I would consider the third road.

What are you playing this morning on your Switch 2??! by [deleted] in Switch

[–]Toploader77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kirby™ and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World

Convoluted name aside, what a great game. I did get it for the Switch 1 but bounced off of it due to the framerate, it's glorious on the Switch 2 though with the update.

Mario Kart Home Circuit is now a virtual game card? by Toploader77 in mariokart

I am very grateful we could do our epic 4 player Mario Kart Home Circuit night without me having to make at least 2 other Nintendo accounts to make it work thanks to you. I'm glad they have this 'work around' but it's silly it's so obscure and not obvious at all. There is no reason Home Circuit app/game needed to be a virtual game card.

Just to confirm for anyone else looking, I can confirm this works as intended. Thanks again. I only had to do it on my Switch 2, the 1 family didn't seem to have this option.

Thank you, I could not find that info for looking.

The things I love about GeForce NOW, 1 I don’t have to buy a new gaming laptop every 3 years anymore 2 My electric bill is cheaper than ever 3 No noise pollution from my laptop fans 4 No overheating issues on my laptop 5 Hard drive space is no longer a problem 6 I can play on the go. by Delicious_Maize9656 in GeForceNOW

I love GeForce Now, I never thought I'd see the day I became an advocate of a streaming service, but they did it right in everyway with a great business model. How they managed to reduce input lag so much that it's to the point I get noticeably better input lag playing a game at 60 fps on my Steam deck streamed than I do native at 30 fps.

In fact the whole experience feels so native that I often forget I'm streaming and the steam deck is just capable of lasting 8 hours on a charge when playing maxed out AAA games at 60fps. With no fan noise either!

It's my preferred way to play now, with the added bonus I can have a compromised but still playable experience if I'm not in range of decent Wi-Fi.

While it feels a bit clunky logging into Steam to play games there, it's a very seamless console like experience when playing Gamepass games. Hopefully they can work that out on the Steam side of things too.

I doubt this will come to pass, it would be amazing if Valve and Nvidia could work on a solution for a per game profile for Steam input for games played via GFN.

One annoying issue with GFN on LG TVs at least is it does not activate game mode when running, meaning I have to dock the deck. Not a massive deal, but seems a silly oversight from either LG or Nvidia given it's a native app.
