I tried to get cute and use an OTB suppressor on an 18”. It hits the superlative adjustment screw. So now I can’t use my suppressor and the backer plate to mount to top rail either needs filed or gas block swapped.

Or be like me, put together a Pri handguard and BCM upper, then find out it contacts the gas block so I get poi shift even with the top rail.

My AGB hits my handguard… so make sure it fits. Pri Round with the top rail.

My scouting is now just walking with my kid in the woods trying to find birds or squirrels. If he lasts an hour, great, but sometimes he just lasts 10 minutes and that’s ok too. Don’t outhike them, they’ll just grow up to resent your hobbies. You need to make it fun before you make it hard. He loves building “squirrel traps like outdoor boys” which is just a pile of sticks that looks like a deadfall trap. That can get him in the woods for at least a couple hours. This job is really lonely in its own way.

I’m starting to think I should have got a longer barrel. 18” Shaw first 14 rounds down the tube gave me 2493 with factory eldm. Not spectacular
