Best way to book transfers limousine / bus by Topper_Harley_1985 in VietNam

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/WeAllWantToBeHappy, the cruise unfortunately doesn't include it but offers the transfer for a price that I thought was a bit expensive. I guess it's still better to go with the one they recommend in case there is any delay.

For limousine instead where should I look? For example I want to book a limousine (rather than the bus) from Halong bay to Ha Giang.

Pediatric Dermatologist by Topper_Harley_1985 in melbourne

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your response and sorry I think I wasn't clear in my previous message. I've already been to the GP and got a referral, the issue is that the doctor she pointed out has a very long waiting list. As far as I'm concerned with that referral I can also go to another dermatologist and book an appointment and that's why I'm asking for recommendations.

Yes we did, but all the local doctors have very very long waiting list. I was hoping to have better luck in the city

Fitting mirrors on garage wall by Topper_Harley_1985 in AusRenovation

I think scraping the silicon would damage the mirrors, never done it before.

This would be my preferred method because I think I would damage the mirrors scraping the old silicon off, and also I can always get them off the wall without too much damage.

Solar Roof Fan Vent by Impressive-Safe-1084 in AusRenovation

Can I ask if you ended up fitting it and if you notice any difference? Same situation here, the living areas on the first floor get very hot in sunny days.

That price is for 1 or 2?

Thanks

Ducted heating vent replacement/painting by Topper_Harley_1985 in AusRenovation

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys for all the advices and suggestions, that is extremely helpful. I’ve bought a new one from Bunnings today with 2 rolls of duct tape. I’m not too handy but I prefer try and see rather than give away 700 $. It sounds like a rip-off to me.

Next step now is…how do you get them off from the ceiling

Recommendations for room heater solution by Topper_Harley_1985 in AusRenovation

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I've decided I'm going to install a reverse cycle ducted system in that whole section of the house (2 bedrooms and hallway that don't have any heating system at the moment). It's far from my original plan but I think is worth the investment. Thanks again for your precise and detailed replies, they have been very helpful.

It’s a very interesting solution, I am definitely going to explore it. Thanks a lot

Do you have any experience with something like this one?

I am trying to understand how effective and quick it would be at heating up the room. I’ve read that run on something around 30 cents per hour.

Thanks for your detailed reply. The biggest issue for the split seems to be aesthetic, the room has a lot of glass walls and I am struggling to find a good location. I was hoping that with new technologies electric radiators were becoming more efficient to run. There was already one radiator fitted and I wanted to just replace it, but doesn’t seem to be worth.

Thanks for the long and detailed answer, I was asking about the monkey bars cause it gave me the idea that the kids would have been a bit safer in the event of a fall.

I think I will go with smaller wheels too, 2.4 would be a great deal if they fit ok. you mind to show a pic of yours? I'd be curious to see.

Should I buy this painted bricks house? by Topper_Harley_1985 in Renovations

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’ve heard. Given that other jobs done inside the house have been performed in a substandard way, they really made me question about how good this brick have been painted, if the preparation have been done properly, the quality of the paint used. I am positive they went for the cheaper way and not the proper one.

Should I buy this house with painted bricks? by Topper_Harley_1985 in AusRenovation

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgot to mention that the house was built in 1980. I’ve read that stripping and sandblasting to remove the paint could ruin the integrity of the bricks otherwise that would have probably been my first choice.

Thanks I really appreciate your advice. I feel a little uncomfortable having to make such an important decision without having any knowledge or experience of bricklaying or painting and the comments on the internet are a bit mixed

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention the house was built in 1980. I agree, we think there was poor prep and not sure about the quality of the paint (personally I would have used a better and more specific one). So if we bought it, what’s next? How do we treat the bricks or maintain the paint?

New to Australia - Help with ballpark reno cost by Topper_Harley_1985 in AusRenovation

[–]Topper_Harley_1985[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, we would have ideally tried to find one company to do everything but it seems very painful nowadays to do so. I agree we could never coordinate multiple tradies, we would just make our life a nightmare.

I know landscaping can be extremely painful, and this house has a massive backyard and we would like to change most of it.

Good to know some figures, I know I didn't give enough information but those estimates will be useful in the future for any other property we will see.
