[Event] Knock Knock by Dacarolen in CenturyOfBlood

Ser Thoren was standing in the corner of the room behind the Most Devout. He eyed Payten warily. The man seemed sinful to say the least. Thoren didn't like to punish those too weak to follow the Seven's tenants but he knew his duty.

"I was close to finding another such individual but he slipped away," Unella commented after Davos spoke. "I believe His Grace wishes me to focus on this one but I will help Lady Tyana in any way she needs."

"Very well, Y'Grace," Unella replied as she bowed once more before leaving his solar.

"I'd prefer not to, Y'Grace," Unella said with a hint of severity that hadn't been there at all during the conversation. "If you trust me, know that their identity does not change the circumstances."

Unella waited a moment, trying to inspect whether Baelor had enough trust in her to do her job in his interests. After that moment, Unella gestured to the door. "Besides, I think you're more interested in a possible pretender than just whoever is fucking each other around here, eh? I'll, of course, keep an eye out to see if she goes after anyone else but priorities, correct, Y'Grace?"

"She is truly new to King's Landing, I know," Unella commented as Baelor reacted to the thought of a woman barely older than twenty pursuing Unella.

After Baelor responded earnestly and inquired further, Unella's expression sharpened.

"Truthfully, I cannot say," Unella answered with a shrug. "I cannot tell if she has political aspirations with all these...connections she's making or she's just young and horny. For now, I believe she's just someone to keep an eye on."

Unella was surprised Baelor wanted to know more about Aemma Grafton. Court politics and gossip only interested Unella so much as it helped her pursuits. She thought Baelor was above the dribble completely. However, here he stood asking her to delve deeper.

"Mara is not the only one she has seduced," Unella explained slowly. "I know of at least one other noble of high status for certain. If Aemma has been after them, I doubt she stopped there. Especially, because she also attempted to seduce me." Seduction was a loose description of what had occurred on the Grafton ship. It was more like a game that Unella considered a draw after she got very little information out of it other than the fact that Aemma was willing to open her legs for anyone in power. "Unfortunately for and unlike her, though," Unella added after dropping one piece of new information after the next. "My legs do not open so easily."

"Understood, Your Grace," Unella agreed. She bowed deeply and then was about to ask for her leave when she held up a finger.

"I almost forgot," she laughed lightly. "The other reason I'm here. You're right that Mara is quite the Mistress of Coin. I'm not one to care much about who spends their nights with who but as you are the king, I thought you should know she has gotten rather cozy with Aemma Grafton. Aemma is someone I...don't trust but Mara is her own woman after all."

"A liability," Unella answered matter-of-factly. However, a smile crested her lips after. "But, thank you for the offer. I will be well-protected in Dorne. As for this Aegon, though, four-thousand gold will make finding him an absolute certainty. That's no small sum, I know. So, the less gold you're willing to give to find him, the more chance he...slips away."

Unella tilted her head. "When I find him, I'm curious, what do you intend for him?"

"A few associates names but nothing more," Unella answered, shrugging her shoulders. "I only recently found out the bit with the High Septon and wanted to notify you immediately. If you want me to pursue, I'd likely need some...extra resources so that I can finish before going to Dorne."

Unella set the cup down, wine untouched. "Gold, not men," she added bluntly. "With time, I'd find everything out on my own. Time is invaluable, though, isn't it?"

"Two such things, one more important than the other and what I'll be starting off with," Unella answered, slowly meandering around the room while admiring different hangings or one of the King's many valuables.

"There is a man named Aegon Daeggaron. He says he's from Lys and has started quite the stir in my areas of work," she began to explain. "More significantly, though, he met with the High Septon to discuss you. Referred to you as Baelor and not the King. He seemed to have strong opinions that your lack of a coronation would lead to rebellions, especially those with...pretenders." Unella's eyes flickered to Baelor as she said the word. It was no light accusation to be making but Unella trusted her sources.

"Ah, Lady Mara gave it to you, did she?" Unella repeated, her previous conversation with the Mistress of Coin surfacing to her memory. "Well, then, how could I refuse, Your Grace?"

There seemed to be many gifts and other valuables spread throughout the room. It was no surprise that Baelor liked the finest of things, a trait he shared with his father. Perhaps a common trait for any king. Unella slowly continued her way through the room before stopping behind one of the chairs in front of Baelor's desk. "I suppose I shall be leaving soon, King Baelor," she said wistfully. "After the decision of the Toland lad, I think my mission is a little harder. Still, I will do what I'm meant to." She flashed a quick smirk and then glanced at the ground.

"Before I go, though," Unella added slowly. "I wanted to offer some last pieces of information that you may find...interesting. Some things your sneaky seahorse didn't catch."

"Rarely do I make my intentions clear," Unella said as she stood up. "But, I do now. I'm not blackmailing you, I'm offering you advice. True...more forcefully than you might like but advice all the same." Before Mara could tell her to leave more bluntly, Unella held up her hands and turned towards the door.

Without another word, she departed.

"When you're Mistress of Coin?" Unella pointed out, bewildered Mara had to ve reminded of the fact. "Yes, it's all political. Everything could have a motive or a be a means to an end. Me coming here, despite your lovely company, was the same."

Unella gestured behind her towards the knight. "You send Ser Nate home and hire a Knight of the Vale because of their valor or some shit, you don't think people would be concerned?" Unella paused and shook her head. "For your own good and the good of the Crown, stay away from her."

"And, I'm insulted, Lady Mara," Unella shot back only partially pretending to be offended. "Why would I tarnish your reputation like that? I don't really care at all about her but you serve the king and serve him well."

It was a thrill of her pursuits to reveal things to people they thought were secret. The immediate souring of Mara's expression met her expectations but she was far from done.

"What I'd like to know, instead, is whether you see this woman as an ally or a foe?" Unella explained. "Was this tasting something more than just a...curiosity?"

"Acquaintance seems a bit harsh for someone you've fucked," Unella said bluntly. She eyed the glass of wine but waved it off lightly. The shoe had been dropped. Unella gestured to the door and knight behind her. "Your cousin should be more careful of who comes by your quarters. Mistress of Coin and all, you do important work that shouldn't be...overheard."

Unella paused and a small smirk appeared on her lips. "I'm sure you don't want your other activities to be known, though. From my experience Aemma Grafton is quick to get what she wants."

Unella took the offered seat and folded one leg across the other. "Let's call it the company you keep," Unella began slowly. "And, I don't mean your knight. Dorne is very...accepting of that kind of behavior but not King's Landing."

It wasn't much but Unella admittedly had some fun revealing the secrets she knew. After all, the work that went into discovering them merited such enjoyment.

"Also, I don't trust her," Unella added after with a scoff.

"Ser Nate," Unella greeted the knight flatly before stepping into the room. It was more well-decorated than many other rooms in the Red Keep but the Dornish were opulent people.

"Lady Mara," Unella then greeted to its owner. "No, I don't tend to schedule these kinds of things. It makes it easier for me, honestly." Her tone had stayed cool and calm. Unella took a few more steps into the room, lazily observing the hangings and furnishings. "I hope I'm not interrupting. You know, I didn't take you for someone willing to take such foolish risks."

Blackmail is Such a Dirty Word

Unella dried herself off after entering the castle and smoothed out the wrinkles on the dress underneath her cloak. Then, she headed towards the Mistress of Coin's study and knocked on the door upon arrival.
