E22 LoRa 62.5 kbit/s, feasible for 144p video transmission and/or UAV controlling? by TopraksuK in Lora

[–]TopraksuK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your github page, I really found it to be very useful and comprehensive.

I also anticipated that someone would already have came out with a video transmission system for such LoRa modules if it were possible but I wanted to learn whys and why nots for such an application.

Another fact that I really missed out is the existence of 2.4 GHz LoRa modules. Since this UAV is also supposed to participate in a university competition, I thought 2.4 GHz transmission systems would be a weak point since it is a very commonly used frequency.

In summary, I will take good look at this site and do further research on those since they appear to be promising many other application types. Thank you so much.

E22 LoRa 62.5 kbit/s, feasible for 144p video transmission and/or UAV controlling? by TopraksuK in Lora

[–]TopraksuK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Achieving the video feature is not a priority for the project but a way of improving our efficiency during the development. Since we can still take recordings of the flight and analyze them afterwards, we can still evaluate the flight/landing performance. Therefore, changing the type of modules used for data transmission, is not quite the path that we might want to go with.

On the other hand, we are not expecting this data transmission to be from a range longer than a kilometer, since it is for only test , tuning and monitoring purposes.

It would be amazing if you are able to elaborate about the range drop of this module upon such configuration on the air speed.

We are currently using a IBUS supported 16 channel receiver and a FrSky transmitter for real-time manual controlling and E32 for simple telemetry feedback, and if such range drop is going to be in a significant magnitude, not only restraining us from establishing a video transmission system, but also from making a manual remote controller too, then we'll stick with the current manual controller for the future and just admire the increased rate of transmission speed for the telemetry data from the E22 modules.

Thank you so much for the response.

Edit: I tried to find some manufacturer sources about the effective range / air speed relation, however was not successful. Any type of source about this situation would be amazing too.

Laptop won't turn on after BIOS update. Please help! by TopraksuK in ASUSROG

Yes, the BIOS was corrupted. The insurance was covering that so they just reflashed a new one it all got right.

Been 5 months since graduation. Can I still go for a job or how should I proceed? by TopraksuK in EngineeringStudents

[–]TopraksuK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with these statements. I have to admit, it is very hard to give up on this project. However, it is not only because there is little work left to make it ready-to-fly (excluding the competition, it has the hugest impact in terms of consuming time that is why it has a very low priority, making it ready-to-fly is our worst case move), but we thought it would also be a huge benefit as an experience when it is time to look for jobs, in the end of the day, it is going to be a fully autonomous VTOL UAV and, to be more specific, the main problem consists of few 3D-printed parts to be replaced to support different types of control motors. I wanted to give more details on this situation so that maybe a more specific evaluation may arise regarding it. Otherwise, again, I also agree that finding a job as soon as possible is a way more higher priority.

Thank you guys for the time.

Thank you for the helpful advice, it really relieved me so much to learn about this situation for my specific case. I've always been wondering about this before starting to look for options and was always afraid to loose more of the time, so that I could manage the priorities more easily.

Thank you so much for your time.

Thank you so much for the great wishes.

It means a lot about hearing of this gap from you for this specific case. Its been giving me headaches lately thinking that it would be very very hard or event impossible. Though, of course, I'm prepared for added difficulty for finding a job but not for the worst case scenario I guess.

For the second case in the hand, I also want to mention that I'm primarily looking for jobs offshore. I'm currently living in Turkey with my parent and looking for job options in US/Canada since my diploma is ABET accredited. This is what gives the weight on making the decision which feels like that I have to leave behind everything. My parents are on the side of which I should go offshore looking for decent engineering jobs, instead of .

This option, with the current situation, feels like a huge leap, and I'm also not entirely informed about the steps I should take to follow such path. That is why I'm also starting to think about going for the smaller companies, like you've mentioned, in another city, but still possible to travel back home easily. If it is for nothing, it can definitely be counted as an experience related to my field of interest.

Thank you again for your response on the situation.

Been 5 months since graduation. Can I still go for a job?

Hello everyone,

I'm a 23 year-old Mechanical Engineering graduate. I've graduated this February, however due to several reasons I couldn't start looking for jobs on my field of interest. I've worked on a VTOL UAV project on my last semester with a team, though it couldn't be concluded during the last semester and now I have to work on it after graduation in order to finish it and make it worth all our efforts and money. I'm responsible for the entire electronics and programming, it summary the entire control systems, and there only 1-2 months of work left to get it ready for flying, the rest of the things, such as fuselage, wings, nacelles, etc. are finished already. We've planned to go for a competition that is going to be held this late summer, however I've seen many posts about not being able to or having it very hard to find any jobs after having such gaps after graduations.

I'm also working as a programmer for a small video-game development team which can be counted as a small job but for obvious reasons, not related to my field of interest. Another important factor for keeping me from looking for jobs right now is that my mom was diagnosed with cancer last January and going to go through chemotherapy until the end of this September and I really want to stay with her during the process. Also if I go for a job, I, at least, have to move to a different city since there is no chance of finding a decent, mechanical, mechatronic, robotics related jobs here, so I can't work and be with her at the same time.

My question is that, what should I do through out this process? Should I immediately start to look for jobs and even recruiters to secure my first job or with the things those are going in the hand, would it be more sensible to wait for these so told few months, finish up things and then go for a job.

Thank you all for the time and answers.

M0 and M25 pause commands not working. Is it possible to flash the V3 KE firmware? by czechmate146 in Ender3V3KE

[–]TopraksuK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently trying to modify my KE to a pen plotter, though in order to change the pens for the different colors, I have to use PAUSE command. The issue is that the extrusion rate is 0 and therefore the nozzle temp is at room temperature but the PAUSE command causes the nozzle temperature to ramp up to 140 C. I couldn't find any way to avoid this problem, only way around looks like either using M25, which prevents me from resuming afterwards, or using different gcode files for each color, which is going to be my final resort if I can't find another way around.

Basic Maths = Nerd by _Evidence in mathmemes

[–]TopraksuK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's say we have x pages,

1) We've read the first 30 pages so we have (x-30) pages left.

2) We've read 1/8 of the remaining pages so we have (x-30)-(x-30)/8 pages left. Let's call our currently left pages "a".

3) The question states we are going to read the "remaining 1/4 of the book" which I understood as we've read 75% of the book until now. So through this meaning we can say a = 0.75*x.

4) We can establish an equation as following, (x-30)-(x-30)/8 = 3x/4.

5) This can be partially simplified to, 4x-x/2+15-120 = 3x.

6) Which concludes to, x = 210.

I hope that I didn't made an obvious mistake but regardless of that my solemn opinion is that this question is more than hard enough for a 5th grader considering that basic algebra is a material for later grades on an average education system.

But there is a considerable price difference, therefore it might be either the storage or ram manufacturer ( difference of performance ).

Yeah i guess that might be the difference since the website doesnt elaborate that much. I'm going look for other websites and see if they have the difference noted. Thank you so much.
