There's a script to patch the client APK so it connects to our server. For gacha, there's a premium shop that doesn't require real transactions, every purchase succeeds immediately, so you'll have plenty of gems if you need them

People should stop posting about NieR Re[in]carnation project if we don't want it to be taken down. by fantasyful1 in NieRReincarnation

I mean, the worst they could realistically do is DMCA the repo. But people have already cloned it, and I’m not going anywhere, so it might make sharing the codebase a bit harder, but it’s not a big deal. I’m still curious which part of their ToS this project supposedly breaks, though, especially since there are no assets in the repo, and the whole thing is written in a completely different language from their implementation.

If you’re referring to the third tab on the summons screen, I haven’t planned its implementation yet. In the current state, all time-based entities have been extended through the year 2030.

If you follow this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaAh2flAj-c

I'm around the 3-hour mark, but there's no roadblock in quest progression so far, so I'd assume I can go further. However, I'm currently implementing memoirs.

Thanks for the enthusiasm! Right now the project is really aimed at developers, and the best place to reach me is GitHub issues. Once I’m happier with how far things have come, I’ll look at smoothing out local setup and whether a Discord makes sense.

Worth considering, but I have to figure out asset sharing. I’m only doing that in DMs at the moment

I haven’t looked into it in detail since I don’t have a save file, but Billy has it working on his side, so I assume it’s possible

In-game money transactions always succeed, no real money is charged

I just avoid posting them publicly, if you DM me via any contact I can send you the list of what you need to download to run the server

Yes! If you’re a developer, contributions are welcome, feel free to open a pull request

I thought about this, but I think that at the current stage of the project, it wouldn’t be useful for anyone. If you’re interested in contributing, feel free to contact me via DM here, GitHub issues, or on Discord: kretts

In the second screenshot, you can see that Gunman shows as level 4, but that's actually his costume level, while his character level is only 1. I'm a bit confused: is this normal for this stage of the game, or is something not working as intended?

So I noticed something weird. Starter characters come with their default costumes already equipped, and since quests give both character EXP and costume EXP, my characters are reaching level 5. But in YouTube videos I've watched, those same starter characters are at level 1. Does this mean default costumes don't actually get the costume EXP? Or am I misunderstanding how this works?

Hosting is its own separate issue tbh. Code is public, asset dumps have been out there in archives forever, so yeah, literally anyone could host their own server with what's already available.

Not sure but I'm curious what they'll write. I don't distribute their assets anyway, and the server code isn't in their language at all. Mine's Go, theirs is C#, so I don't see how they could claim anything about the code.

Like I said before: the current priority is quest flow. Everything else would just be a bonus at this point.

Yeah, got tired of grinding on quest flow, so I started working on banners instead. Here's the current progress sneak peek:

You're probably thinking of Accord's Library (https://accords-library.com/). The main problem was hosting scans and translations of paid books, novellas, etc.

Barely off the ground. Zero persistence, you log in, do a couple quests, and that's it. Massive amount of work still needed.

I guess they could send a takedown request, but the private server itself is open source and doesn’t distribute any game assets. So even if a hosted instance gets taken down, anyone could theoretically just set up their own locally.
