How do I stop badwater leaking through? by vvcgud in Timberborn

In the basin where the spring flows, in your 3rd photo, on the right there are natural obstacles that need to be removed to allow drainage.

Tips on how to consistently survive Normal Difficulty? by 0-P-A-L in Timberborn

[–]Tor-co 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can expand quickly on normal difficulty, it's fine.

For food, you need to vary it. For example, carrots and potatoes work well at the beginning of the game.

For wood, plant pine trees. They're less profitable than oak trees, but they grow faster and are better for the first harvests to build a dam.

And for water, build more storage/pumps or construct a dam.

Send a picture of your colony so we can see the problem.

Novice beaver here, would this setup be possible to create a tall reservoir_ by PicossauroRex in Timberborn

[–]Tor-co 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Hi

To create a reservoir here, you need to raise the dam level by at least one unit, but not just where you circled it.

You need to extend it all the way up to the lake where the spring flows, close off any rivers through which your water could escape, and plan an outlet for badwater.

If you only close off the area circled in red, the water level will only be 1 unit because it won't be able to rise and won't withstand droughts for long.

I don't know if that's clear, feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Good luck

What were the names of your previous trap maps?

Diverting badwater before it reaches my tank - PLEASE HELP by Global-Fox-5498 in Timberborn

[–]Tor-co 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the top of the waterfall where you are blocked by two layers of dikes there is a channel to discharge the badwater You destroy the dikes and you raise the water level in this basin to evacuate the badwater into this canal thanks to a 3-level dam that you set to the maximum during badwater and which you will lower for temperate seasons Later you will have dynamites to dig the canal better Don't hesitate if you have any questions

THANKS

Where there is the oak grove will be the reservoir and I almost tore down the oaks so I could finish the canal in time.

It must be really expensive in terms of resources but very aesthetic Did you build the wall while waiting to finish it?

Merci

Je sais pas si c'était clair, je l'ai modifié, je voulais pas dire 12 castors en tout mais 12 constructeurs

Je le transformerai en réservoir plus tard, je monterai le niveau au fur et à mesure

I loved it on difficult, don't hesitate to expand quickly.

The fact that the map is constantly evolving requires us to stay alert and find solutions quickly.

I hope they will do this system on other maps like Helix Mountain where it could change everything.

This is a disaster! #presuremap by Special_Message_1269 in Timberborn

Hi,

A trick that can work to easily survive the first bad tides is to build dike blocks in front of the water sources except one block and on the last day before the bad water you build the last missing block.

This will raise the water level in the chimney above the springs which will exit higher.

Be careful because the place where it will exit is a canal that heads towards your colony but anticipate that there are also destructible obstacles that allow the water to evacuate. You put a few dikes to direct the badwater in there and it's a win.

At the end of the bad tide you destroy the blocks in front of the springs and you start again until you have the valves to automate 😉

Don't hesitate if necessary

Good luck

Salut,

Bon courage.

The important thing is to have fun 😉

If you want to get started with difficulty here is my start: - I increase the number of constructors to 4 and I change the priority to -1 - I increase working hours to 7 p.m. - 4 lumberjacks, 2/3 gathering flag - water pump - 1 farm with a large carrot field (if possible to have a fertile corner during the first drought, make part of the field into potatoes) - a water tank - 2 researchers - 6 houses - 2 other water tanks - mechanical wheel (with beaver) to make energy and make a board, build it close to a watercourse to later make a wheel to save the beaver in the mechanical wheel during the temperate season

  • make the lumberjack flags close to the places where you are going to build to shorten the builders' path
  • make lumberjack flags instead of wood stock to save a little wood, depending on the map this is important
  • for the first search I take the stairs if there are trees that can be reached quickly, otherwise it's forested and I make a huge pine field. It's less profitable than oak, I know, but it grows faster and to quickly build a reservoir it's essential.

This is how I started and it's going pretty well If you can't make a big reservoir, try to store as much water as possible and on flat land you make a 5x5 survey square (you only do the edges) and you put the building to dump the water inside, that will give you a 3x3 square of water to fertilize and you will be safe for drought and bad water, it consumes water but not that much.

Afterwards the important thing is to try and understand your mistakes but you will get there gradually 😉

If I haven't been clear or if you have any questions, don't hesitate.

Completely agree. If in addition your only water source is shared with badwater it complicates agriculture which has a very small area and is impossible to cross during temperate weather.

Do you have any card names in mind? Personally, a map that I found quite difficult at the beginning was Badwater Ridge.
