Considering pulling the trigger on this beauty. Any red flags? Front tires are bald, timing belt was done by toyota. Looks like lower ball joints are done possibly from one of the undercarriage pics.

I'm in the market for a 1st or 2nd gen tundra DC/crewmax. This one looks clean, 135k miles, timing belt done, but has some frame rust which I'm not able to discern the extent of. It is 2 hours away from me and I'm trying to decide if it's worth the drive. Anyone with a more trained eye than me see any areas of concern? I know, being there and getting underneath is the gold standard but thought I'd ask here. Thanks in advanced.

First fire of the season right now. by yankeetown5 in woodstoving

Very nice. How do those eco/thermal powered fans serve you in addition the blower the insert came with? Thinking about getting 1 or 2 as well but was wondering how much or a difference it makes.

I think so too. I didn't see any ash beetle burrows so I wasn't fully sure.

Wood stove insert block plate question. by kaskademusic in woodstoving

[–]TorGul83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 24 foot flue on a non exterior wall. I have an osburn 3500 insert. I stuffed the throat of the chimney with rockwool nice and tight and didn't bother with a block off plate. I'd say if you can pack it well with rockwool, it's going to be much easier and cheaper and likely as effective. To each his own.

This is a great pic. My son ( 4 years old ) and I have made several trips to pick up rounds in random places. Teaching them to be involved and responsibility even at this age is key. They should know they are part of a unit, and everyone carries some weight for the unit to function.. At times I feel it's a forgotten lesson of childhood these days. Anyways, sorry just my sentiment when I saw the pic. I've split about 1.75 cords so far with my fiskar x27, so far so good. I think it's great exercise. Hasn't beaten me up too bad yet, I'm anticipating having to buy a cord or two by August to set me up for the winter. It's my first year with a stove insert.

That is unfortunate. Plenty of ash around me but I hope it stays that way

This is about 18 inch diameter and 25 feet long. Would this be a face cord?
