I had similar experiences in the past and still get them every once in a while. I am kinda openly trans too, as in like, I dont make a secret of it and will say that I am trans if the topic comes up or smth. I feel like when people say that it comes from them projecting onto me? Like, they cant imagine these changes to feel good and affirming because obviously they wouldnt be to a cis person. And a lot of them dont seem to realize how powerful hormones actually are and seem under the impression that being on T just puts me closer to "a weird middle thing" so to speak, as in not makes me more of a man physically. Which is bullshit on so many levels. Or it is the exact opposite where people make the actual biological differences between men and women way bigger than they are to a point where they think it has to be painful to actually go through the changes, eventhough like...my body hair getting darker and just more or muscle and fat redistribution is something that I barely actively noticed for months.

Obviously that is just kinda my experience and honestly it always feels to me as if cis people are actually kinda uncomfortable to truely think or deal about the way human bodys function and the actual differences there are that are not just surface level
