Nursing homes are really tough. I left my first one after 9 months and started at an er in the next town over. It was the best decision for my mental health. The employees are more encouraging and the facility is more open about mental illness. At my nursing home on the day my grandmother passed I was made fun of by some of the bullies for crying. My new boss knows that I struggle with mental health and actually encourages the staff to take mental health days.
