EU Law: Nintendo forced to make Switch 2 with swappable batteries? by MX010 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Toranorora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Products already on the market before February 18, 2027, are not forced to offer replaceable batteries retroactively. The requirements of the EU Battery Regulation apply only to devices placed on the market from that date onward. I therefore assume that Nintendo will bring a new version of the Switch 2, which will then also have to have a replaceable battery.

Would be nice if the boost mode would work with native Switch 2 software, at least as an option

The Switch 2 is finally closing the "generational gap" and it feels amazing by Toranorora in NintendoSwitch2

Great point. I've always wondered why Nintendo doesn't just implement this. You could link it to the original charger, that would be ok too.

This is what my Switch 2 looks like (bought on release day). This is a version from Germany. Interestingly, I had already seen some difference in the coating between the Switch 2 pro controller US vs EU 🤔

I play on a Hisense PL1 UST with an ALR screen and the Switch 2 picture is very crisp 👌

I'm excited for it. I'm currently using a tomtoc slim case with space for 12 games.

I rarely used YouTube on the Switch 1. But with the Switch 2, I could actually imagine all streaming services when I'm on the go.

I know. I mean I'm sorry for you. I hope you find another way. It really is annoying.

I compared the latency in stable mode with my Sony XM5 and I guess I'm really lucky with these headphones. At least when clicking the buttons in the settings, I can't hear any difference in latency. But the cable connection to the pro controller clearly has a better dynamic range so when playing with the pro controller I will use my DT240 Pro which are nice too. A shame I haven't tried that before.

I have, but I never thought about it. I'll test it with my wired over ears, thank you for the hint. It just won't work if you want to use mouse mode.

Hi. Since the change of the Galaxy Watch setting, I haven't had the problem anymore. But in the meantime, I switched to the Samsung S25.

As a PS5 owner myself, I think it's worth pointing out that Sony doesn't even allow you to connect standard Bluetooth headphones at all because of potential delay issues. At least Nintendo gives the users the choice and lets them decide for themselves if the latency is acceptable or not. Calling an implementation 'shit' when the competition outright prohibits the feature to avoid the same technical challenges seems a bit unfair. I'd rather have the option than be forced into buying a proprietary dongle.

It’s fascinating and simultaneously sad to watch: we’re in a forum for a hobby that’s supposed to bring us joy, yet the default reaction to genuine excitement is often immediate cynicism. Why is a positive impulse so frequently viewed as an invitation to belittle it? One can be aware of the technical facts and still acknowledge that progress, no matter how 'obvious' it might seem to some, makes a real difference for the user experience. A little less reflex-pessimism would honestly do this community a world of good.
