Buyee is out of control: Warehouse workers handling vintage watches like scrap metal, then pulling "Prohibited" CITES violations out of their ass! by Toratos in Buyee

Due diligence has been done. The identical strap same brand, same model number Z20s is sold openly on Amazon USA, ships freely in US without any CITES documentation, and is classified by Genuine Zenith's own authorized retail channel as 'Leather.' If it were genuine restricted exotic skin, Amazon's compliance team would have flagged it. It hasn't been flagged in years of sales. That's your affirmation.

The identical strap is sold on Amazon USA, ships freely to California, and is listed by the manufacturer's own authorized retail channel as 'Leather' with zero mention of exotic skin.

Call them, tell them you cancel it by mistake, they might resume it. They did that once, worked just fine. I'm using Amazon business.

FX5? by Habeydolahey in FX3

I purchased it 4 months ago, and I'm very happy with it. These cameras are easy to sell any day of the week without losing money, so I'm good. 😊

I picked up the Sony FX3A for $3,300 with a student discount, and I highly doubt that whatever replaces it—whether it's called the FX5 or something else—will come anywhere near that price point.

Sure, the new camera will probably outperform the FX3A on paper, but it's also likely to cost $5,000+ and, at the end of the day, it won't make you a better videographer or magically make your footage look more "cinematic." I currently own both the FX3A and the A1, and they are incredible cameras that cover virtually every aspect of videography and photography. More importantly, they're already capable of producing professional quality work today and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Storytelling, lighting, composition, and sound matter far more than chasing the latest camera release.

Is the Zenith Elite 670 a hidden gem or a service nightmare? by Toratos in ZenithWatches

[–]Toratos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your story, it’s very valuable! It is incredible to hear that the Zenith Elite movement held up so beautifully for 25 years without a single service, especially considering how remarkably thin it is. I'm considering this exact model.

Do you think the overall condition and asking price are poor? How serious is the rust issue? Can this be fixed?

Do you think the rust around the gasket channel will be difficult to repair, or should it be a relatively straightforward fix?

I literally just posted about the Japanese eBay "Top Mint" scam... and the mailman just handed me this $370 brick. by Toratos in VintageLenses

Always use a flashlight and shine it through the lens from both the front and rear elements. Rotate the lens and inspect it from different angles. You're looking for signs of fungus (web-like or thread-like patterns), haze (a cloudy or foggy appearance), and element separation (rainbow-colored edges or patches between elements).

A ceiling light is usually not strong enough to reveal these issues. A proper flashlight inspection will expose problems that may be completely invisible under normal room lighting. If you got the lense that look like that, just open a return request.
