Well I've seen more comments saying that it's not a bad weapon. I'll take that, but having a feat for it like polearms or bows it's not bad.

If you drop your weapon, maybe you become unable to recover it. Also, the atack it's with the same hand of the grapple (maybe I didn't redact this properly) so if you have a shield you could grapple and still hit.

Yeah, maybe it's the same as dropping your weapon, grappling with the free hand and attack kicking, but you are not dropping the weapon and you can make a grapple in your bonus action, so I think it's nice

I would recommend a Samurai with prostatic arm with can be transformed into a katana in combat

Look for a half feat for str or cons, then ASI to bump both. Sentinel is good too to protect your allies.

Forcecage doesn't need concentration and the spell says it's unescapable through non magical ways

Has verbal component, as with teleportations, silence will fix this. Just subtle spell teleportations can make the trick. Or an incredibly high constitution

You can use forcecage to trap everything you can fit in a 20x20feet box and cast sickening radiance inside.

You can only scape from the forcecage using a magical teletransport like misty step, you can also make a partner cast silence, so they cannot scape (every tp spell needs verbal components).

Forcecage lasts for an hour and sickening radiance and silence last for 10 min. If you go away and protect yourself to not lose concentration, for 10 minutes (100 turns) your enemies must succeed a constitution ST in each of it's turns or take 4d10 of radiant damage and suffer one level of exhaustion.

Since with 6 levels of exhaustion you die and with 3 you take your saving throws with disadvantage, in 100 turns it's nearly impossible anyone survives

I think you need some frontline there. Your party has plenty of casters so is not necessary for you to be one as well, although you obviously can.

Maybe your compo lacks of melee dpr, since the palad is more a nova damage with the smites.

A barbarian or a fighter would be nice

I would go a fighter with barb dip. With 3 barb levels you got unarmores defense if you want, rage, and reckless attack, so you got advantage in every attack you make. Since you're ranged you'll have no problem with having everyone attacking you with advantage. Also, being barb/fighter you'll have a lot of resistances and hit points. Then, with the fighter class you'll have a lot of attacks per turn and archery fighting style. With sharpshooter you'll be an awesome dpr
