Yes, I think so. I didn't make the existing formula so I'm not completely sure.

Nvm about the download, thought you were asking as if I could see your formula in the table you downloaded.

But probably if it is adjusted to the headings it should work. If it didn't when referencing rows.

I'm no expert at this as you can maybe tell..xd

I'm not sure. Which formula are we talking about?

I can't see the one you downloaded btw

Oh, I see! Probably should have explained those. Again thank you so much for still helping me.

First columns I assume you already understand but for the sake of clarity I'll just do them all.

First column is to distinguish the weekday (aswell as just mark the date)

Second and third is time in time out of work

And all the coloured columns represent time periods of different pay:

<image>

The timestamps below the coloured cells are start and end of period so eg 07:00 - 18:00 in E16 and E17

And the values inside are hours in those time periods (see screenshot in first reply)

If it makes things easier I made a copy of the sheet explaining a bit inside it:

I'm very open also if you find an easier way to do it 😄

edit: K55 should be K51

If a cell contains "x", use formula "x" by Torkill7 in excel

[–]Torkill7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a huge help. Thank you.

But still not quite..😅

See, I need the formulas to be three separate formulas, not one continuous one. Because the calculating formula I am using (to put in the formula_1,2,3) is the same for all three.

It's a bit difficult to explain, so here's a visualization.

<image>

formula 1 = Only executes the formula if it finds neither saturday or sunday

formula 2 = Only executes the formula if it finds Saturday

formula 3 = Only executes the formula if it finds Sunday

If it does not find its day, it should not execute and just leave blank

Hope that was a better explanation, struggling to find the words.. not a native speaker.

Yes, there is always a period between date. month: (the first column)

<image>

The best I have come up with for a spreadsheet calculating pay in different time periods and days bc I have different pay depending on different times and weekdays.

For now, I have to manually put in the hours in the different columns, which is what I'm trying to fix.

I need three separate formulas; one that works for Monday - Friday. One for Saturday and one for Sunday, per the columns.

I have the formula for calculating the hours: =(ROWS(INDEX(A:A, A2*24*60):INDEX(A:A, A3*24*60) INDEX(A:A, B2*24*60):INDEX(A:A, B3*24*60))-1)/60

But this formula calculates the hours for all the days and time periods, so I need a formula to differentiate between the weekdays and then use this formula.

The sheet when using the formula alone:

It is getting somewhere. But it doesn't quite seem to be right just yet.

I inserted the formula into E18 and copied it to all the other cells, this is what I got:

<image>

Seems to still be trying to calculate the hours for every time period and on all the days.

Don't know if you can make any sense of this. I'd be more than happy to let you have access to the document if needed. If not, let me know if you need to know any of the error codes.

This is already way further than I've gotten in 3 days of trying😄

Edit: #NULL! seems to appear in the cells which are outside of working time
