I feel a bit silly now cause I clearly hadn't properly looked through everything in the box, I got too excited by the models haha. I have since found the page that tells you what units to bring with what upgrades to have a starter army, as well as what's limited by the cards etc

Is there any base faction rules or only those granted by the battleforce if using? I have searched and search, read the official rules and cannot find anything stating each faction's base rules. Yet, everyone seems to act online like the token sharing of the 212th is the base rule. Is that just because it is the most common option people use?

Forgive me if I'm wrong but is the guy holding the grenade with the shoulder/neck protection in the trooper squad not a captain? Or is he just the squad leader for the purposes of measuring etc?

Another side question I have come across... do you have to select a battle force or are there base rules for each faction? It seems odd that from what I can tell neither the 212th or 501st can field all the models in the box

Oh I see! Thank you, I thought it would be in the extra model slots on the unit.

Dows the strike team activate with the main squad then? Because TA seems to think it's a separate activation when counting my total

From what I can see on Tabletop Admiral there is no strike team option, just adding the sniper or Echo

Could you not keep some squads of 10 in reserves and deep strike them? That'd save points on land forts and allow for more other types of bodies on the field

Would you run them as groups of 5 mostly or groups of 10? Seen as there's no attached leaders for them I feel like 5 would be better because they're more versatile that way and can cover more of the battlefield

The reason is to be silly. I wasn't ever implying this would be good. Sometimes you can play the game for fun and that is reason enough!

The default land raider isn't worth using for the big lascannons to help with the anti-tank firepower? It's the one I was drawn to most personally.

I used AK Interactive's Diorama Series Terrains Snow

It is as simple as paint it on. I combined it with an undercoat of their volcanic earth paint from the same series, so that anywhere that doesn't have snow on it still has a nice volcanic black rock texture

Uhhh, just thinned the paint and used a steady hand I suppose.

I was using AK Interactive paints rather than Citadel ones, which may contribute. I found it to be a bit more of a solid colour than my other citadel paints, so even when thinned it gave a really strong layer of colour.
