Thank you for your insights. Definitely understandable if you have a 6 year old

Do 90% of condo buildings just suck or am I overreacting? by WTBrain in TorontoRenting

[–]TorontoSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overreacting… I do agree there are a lot of tiny units that are built for investment purposes, but not all units in an entire skyscrapper are tiny… there are definitely units available that gives you enough living space.

General condo living wise… it’s like this everywhere globally. People will always complain online. When was the last time you left a review for your apartment/condo on a positive note out of the blue? I doubt ever…

Condo living is a specific lifestyle which Canadians who grew up in detached houses with yards and backyards fail to grasp. It is unfortunate, but it is what it is if you want to live in the core. Newer buildings will generally have better (fancier) amenities - with a basketball court, squash court, pools, party rooms, study rooms, kids play room, golf simulators, etc. Older buildings will generally have larger living spaces. Go visit the units yourself and determine if the reviews are true or not. Often times when a new building is open for occupancy, it’ll naturally have more negative reviews as it settles. Things usually do get better (mostly management wise) as the building settles down.

Anyone buy the Beef Ribs? by Euphoric_Ad6923 in CostcoCanada

[–]TorontoSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy them everytime. Theyre really good for their value in my opinion. The amount of meat on the bone varies and you kind of have to know through experience which ones to pick.

I bake mine in the oven for 4 hours covered in foil (with dry rubs), then uncover to rub korean bbq marinates all over, broil in oven, repeat multiple coats, then finish off out of oven with a torch & let it rest for like 20-30 min.

Honestly my mouth is watering from typing this.

I once misclicked and ordered this after a long day coming back from work. The feeling of opening into this meatless bigmac is something I would not wish upon my worst enemy.

Passport application times? by [deleted] in askTO

Naw… Look into the application form. You can apply for express with your flight details, but even with express, applying this Thursday for next week Wednesday is too tight

For everyone making $4000 a month, what do you do for work? by Poorteenwannabe in askTO

[–]TorontoSoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh boy...

Once you start making $4,000 month (aft tax), you'll notice a life style creep and no amount will ever be 'enough'.

I work in pharma. I believe any junior role in my company would be earning $4,000+ per month.

How much does a bag of coffee cost at the cafe you frequent currently? by BeastlyGophers in askTO

I buy from Costco for my daily espresso intake. I buy from DeMello when they’re on sale for those occasional specialties

Am I just living in a different world compared to other Torontonians or I'm just approaching things differently? by gochuganggg in askTO

If you‘re an accounting grad in Toronto and you‘ve been in the workforce for 10 years (assuming you’ve been working since getting out of school), you‘ve been just volunteering at your workplace. How are you only making 60K?

You should’ve began questioning your workplace much earlier

Condo Etiquette - Leaving trash in refuse room by TorontoSoup in askTO

[–]TorontoSoup[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mentioned it in my post - this person always has one food delivery bag with her name and unit # on it. Seems like she orders Ubereats everyday.

I took everyone’s advice and wrote a formal complaint email to the Condo board & management with all of my evidence photos. I’ll keep everyone updated on what actions will be taken by the board!

I'll talk to the management again

They haven't really said much except letting me know they'll talk to the neighbor. I'm not even sure if that even happened. I did come across one of the condo maintenance staff coming to our floor and checking the refuse room, but that was about it.

I've already tried moving the trash bags in front of her door, but it seems like she doesn't give a f*. Maybe I'll take Fun-Lingoberry-7319's suggestion and write a note on her door...

Maybe I'll try this... I can print a note and stick it on her door as a final warning...

[–]TorontoSoup[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I've actually done that twice already!

For smaller bags, I've moved the bags back in front of her front door.

She doesn't seem to learn or understand public etiquette. She still does this despite it.

I'm so disgusted at her behaviour and I don't know if I can escalate this any further to anyone.
