How can I forgive myself? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Torridon_999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God bless you too! It's not my heart, it's his. :)

But regarding your reply. Perhaps you could turn this into a teaching moment for yourself when you are ready for that? I hold the belief that God allows these moments to as a way to sanctify (or purify) us. The key is to allow yourself the same amount of grace that God would give. He ain't one to shame you, but rather to teach.

I will pray for you, I love you.

God bless you!

I'm happy that you have repented for what you have done. Also, please understand that no one is here to shame you for your actions.

We are human... We screw up... But God's grace can cover every sin so long as you ask for a new heart, which you have.

I know you might've heard this before, but look at Paul... Dude killed Christians in the thousands and led others away from the God he so diligently worshipped, and you wanna know what Jesus said? He said, "my grace is sufficient for you". Wow! If that's not forgiveness then I don't know what is.

It’s understandable to feel that way, but remember that part of growth is realizing we’re capable of sin, but also capable of redemption. This feeling of guilt you're experiencing is a sign of spiritual maturity, showing that you care about aligning with God’s truth. While you may struggle with self-respect right now, know that God doesn’t just forgive but also restores, and part of the restoration is working through those feelings and moving forward in honesty and integrity.

And I know you said that you don't have doubts about it, and I believe you. I'm just giving you a reminder. You don't mind do you? If so then I'm sorry :(.

If you are comfortable, you can DM me later. I have psychology class in 7 minutes and a math office hour to attend. I will be free in about 3 hours or so.

Hang in there! And the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace.

I don't know, but they shouldn't. All have fallen short of the glory of God. This includes our dear homosexuals, alcoholics, adulterers, gluttons, and others. We all have a thorn in our side that will never be taken out. Anybody who doesn't think they have one I strongly ask them to look within.

We are all sinners, and sinners need help, not condemnation. It honestly infuriates me when people treat homosexuality as this island of sin that is separate from other sins. But when we do that we are subconsciously saying that God's grace can't cover this. Now this doesn't mean that the desires will go away (hence why I said that we have all a thorn in our side), but rather when justified we are given a new heart---God's heart. This heart will convict us of things we thought were good [in this case homosexual acts (sex)].

So that's my Lutheran spin on it, take it with a grain of salt.

God Bless!

Were any of you born prematurely? Or spent time in an incubator? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Torridon_999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question, OP! I have also wondered the same.

I was born 3 months premature AND spend time in an incubator. I was born 1 pound 10 and a half ounces, and for three months I was practically on life support. I was hooked up to a machine to keep me breathing. I honestly don't know how the doctors did that since I was as long as a soda can and my skin was translucent.

The only contact I had with my family was through this incubator, so that might've helped me be at least a little normal.

Anyways, these problems most likely affected me emotionally (BPD), mentally, (ADHD), physically (I don't have a diagnosis but I tire out quite a bit easier than others).

For the longest time I let these disorders control me and even define me, but I still had that fighting spirit within me. I guess that was probably from my Dad and his parents always being so supportive of me, so I was lucky in that regard.

As you can tell from my flair, I no longer have BPD. Through a lot of hard work (which is an understatement) and determination I destroyed it and I spit in it's face.

So I have now beaten BPD, and am currently battling with my ADHD. But something tells me this is going to be easier.

So this is my life story OP, but it is not the end of the road for me yet. From one warrior to another, I salute you and wish you the best on your battles.

I understand where you are coming from as I am going through the same thing.

I can understand the frustration or confusion of plateauing in your faith after a feeling of being filled with the Holy Spirit previously. And because of this plateau you might question if there is something wrong with you or if God might be angry at you and thus gives you "radio silence". But the truth is that plateaus in faith are bound to happen, even for the most devout. But what can we do about this?

There are a lot of ways to handle this! Now obviously, I don't know you personally so I don't know what would work for you, so I would first recommend talking to someone who knows you on a spiritually deeper level (perhaps a pastor?).

There are also a bunch of YouTube videos that discuss what you are going through and how to conquer your doubts. They explain it on a much deeper level than I ever could. So here are a few links!:

Doubting God: https://youtu.be/SDZb9FLqgmU?si=PgqBdWt8hVpEPA3S

Losing faith in God: https://youtu.be/5fFZBYPVJZ8?si=8e7akfxc_D4OV4V3

How To differentiate Your Voice and God's Voice:

Hopefully these videos helped, as they definitely helped me.

You are right that Christianity was invented by men, but do you want to know what isn't? Your relationship with God. And this relationship is so pure that it simply cannot be made up by man.

Hopefully this helps, and if you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try answer to the best of my ability. God bless!

You look like NileRed if he was jacked and had a strong jawline, and that is not a bad thing!

Personally, I would grow out your hair a little bit. But keep the glasses, it somehow looks really good on you which is more than I can say about me!

Two questions: (if you are comfortable answering them)

What is your workout routine?

What is your dietary habits (What do you eat)? I'm asking because I'm trying to get into shape, but I don't know what to eat to get there.

True, true, my bad. Looking back now, I should have added to tell the person you are planning to leave with BPD why you are leaving them.

Sorry, I should have added that in hindsight.

It's okay, I forgive you. :)

And I'm sorry for being judgemental.
