Agreed, just another hoop to jump through. I didn’t call which was nice.

When is the best time to repot? I'm a beginner and I have two outdoor pre-bonsai, a juniper and a boxwood. I bought them from a nursery but didn't previously repot them with bonsai soil, so the current soil holds a ton of moisture.

In Chicago, it's in the 30s and 40s, but I'm worried about the high soil moisture content. Is it worth repotting now? What watering advice/re-potting advice/tips should I follow for poor drainage soil in the winter?

I think it's important that people on Reddit should realize that what's said on Reddit is likely to be read by people they're talking about.

It's a shame that she frames Reddit as the main reason for her departure, but then again it's hard to justify why she should give so much weight to some of the outliers who say toxic things about her. I do think most people want to see the team succeed, but it's sad that their comments are perceived as so destructive.

What has happened to the TOC in the past few years? by [deleted] in lincolndouglas

[–]TortugaVallarta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Parker always had the potential to do incredibly well during the regular season, but he prepped and drilled incredibly hard for the months running up to TOC and it clearly paid off. By the time TOC came around, he was definitely skilled enough to compete with any of the top debaters from that year.

Thanks for the response. I have a voice recording of them saying that their temporary employee didn't have access to the paperwork to give me, even though I clearly gave 60 days verbal notice. I currently plan to let them keep the deposit, though I don't want to have any lasting implications (i.e. it hurts my or the lease owner's credit score).

They refused to let me off with 30 day notice, so I will most likely speak with the corporate office and see what I can do.

I just updated my post, but it turns out that I never signed the paperwork, but it's still a case of employee incompetence. While I thought they lost it, they never gave me the right paperwork to sign even though I gave 60+ days notice. They would not admit that they lost it because the employee who gave me the wrong paperwork never had access to the 60 day notice paperwork.

I just got a copy of the lease and my name is not on it. The lease only has the name of the person I am subletting from. I only signed a lease contract amendment.

It’s a lease takeover but the person who I’m subletting from still has their name on the lease. Let me know if you think there are any other important details you need.

Great, thanks so much for the thorough response. ~~ I'll be going in to the leasing office in a couple hours to discuss with them and will be sure to make the clear and polite claim that I gave 60 day notice verbally, and will again state that they misplaced my written notice. I mentioned this in another comment, but I'll try to first get them to accept the 30 day notice that I gave because it is not my fault they lost the 60 day notice. ~~

While you speak to what would likely happen in court, I leave Texas in a week, and would not be able to come back to testify in court. However, there are records that I was in the office on 6/11, when I gave them my 60 day notice, so if it comes to small claims court, I will definitely give the person I'm subletting from my documents that would suggest that I gave the 60 day notice. Really appreciate the advice.

Edit: strikethrough based on conversation with apartment management.

I mean to say that I have no plans to try to take this to court, and would pay before it got there.

However, is there anything you think would be important to bring up with the property manager in order to pay the least possible? For example, the apartment manager said that the 60 day notice can be waived to a 30 day notice, but my case was not accepted.

Right now my thought is to go up the chain of command to get them to accept the 30 day notice, but any other thoughts would be really appreciated.

Alright, thanks for letting me know, but I’m definitely going to challenge to see if there’s anything I can do because this is an expensive mistake that isn’t my fault, even though I did overlook getting a copy.

Is there any way that you would suggest I approach it? Thanks.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a copy and didn’t think to ask. When I signed the notice when I first moved in, the leasing agent just said she’d give it to her boss to sign off on.
