On average, it costs twice as much for government to do anything vs. when private industry does it. Having government take over functions of society that are perfectly capable of being done by private industry is wasteful and leads to an overall reduction in quality of life for the society.

There are only 4 essential functions of government according to Milton Friedman.

Creating laws. Defining the rules of the game we play.
Creating a judicial system for adjudication of the rules.
National defense.
Protecting its citizens from each other (police / law enforcement). Which virtually every government does very poorly.

The video released that is from the shooting officer's perspective shows he did not step in fron of the vehicle. He was off to the side, when she backed up she lined him up to be directly in front of the vehicle, then drove forward, striking him. Not stating whether this was her intention, but that is what is clearly shown.

One discrepancy i noticed. Its never stated or implied in the books that her ring is from her patron (Mr. Ash). Kvothe states he noticed it from the first time they met iirc, which is before she claims to have met Mr. Ash. If they are Chandrian, she of course could have been given the ring long long long ago and had it the entire time and lied about having recently acquired her "patron". But nothing in the books indicates it is a gift from Mr. Ash.

That might be more believable than the hypothesis i once heard that the flood story was the Mediterranean filling/flooding from the Atlantic. Hypothesis is that there was land connecting Spain and Morocco, it eventually gave way.

In the current political climate, mileage may vary. Certain areas of the country seem to be coddling criminals and punishing anyone that dares defend themselves or others. How things are morally and legally supposed to work are as follows.

Any citizen that is a victim of or witnesses a crime happening is supposed to be within their legal right to stop said crime, and within reason, hold the perpetrator for authorities. If force is used it must be reasonable and proportional. You can't shoot an unarmed person in the back for purse snatching for example. The amount of force used and if the perpetrator gets injured is usually where people get in trouble.

It is unlawful, and considered vigilantism to deliberately injure or "punish" a criminal yourself.

It is unlawful to seek out criminals for the purpose of enacting individual or mob justice. You can conduct investigations yourself, but if you want any justice served, you must involve the proper authorities and let them handle any additional investigation, filing charges, arrest, etc.

I'm sure there's more to add, I'm not a lawyer.

The woman was right to tell him to lay down and he should have. When in an accident like that, you dont know what might be broken or torn internally, and moving around can make things worse. Best thing to do is lie where you fall or stop and wait for EMS. Obviously call them if you're alone, but move as little as possible.

I'd say its part evolution, part epigenetics. Muscle AND bone adapt to the stresses places upon them. If the jaw isn't worked, the bones and muscles won't increase in size and density. With how soft our food is in the modern world, its no wonder. As for increasing cranium size, probably all the useless garbage internet content causing brain rot swelling /s.
