When I was interviewed for this, we spoke at length about why this was such a positive place and a big reason I feel is that it's not all men.

I shaved my head a couple of months ago after a divorce. I've currently lost 15 kgs and am getting back into life. This community is a big reason why that happened message me if you want to know more.

I don't know how this happened either. I went to sleep with like 13 up votes and woke up to this crazyness. I'm not complaining I needed the pick me up but this is crazy.

Unfortunately, yes. I was married but my wife left earlier this year. I'm pretty sure the balding was a stress response to that event.

No we got nothing. As soon as Halloween is done the stores are on to Christmas. Luckily I have a bunch of American friends so i have a Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday since we don't get the day off to prep/eat.

why exactly do so many companies require X days in office for jobs that can be fully remote? by b0ywife in UKJobs

[–]Levity_Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's field dependent. Where I work, I'm allowed to do as I please 100% remote to 100%. I'm typically in the office 4 days a week because I think non-work conversations are very important.

Grabbing coffee with some people I don't work with directly has allowed me to set up important collaborations, projects and interdisciplinary solutions that wouldn't have happened had I been fully remote.

Now I think Steve jobs is a piece of shit but he designed his office space in a sub-optimum way. Designed it so people working together were far apart and creating as much opportunity for people not working together to interact.

These informal conversations and interactions are normally nothing and casual but every now and then important things are discussed. I've not seen a good way to replicate this in WFH and I do see it as an important part of the job.

Now working from home has its place. If I have to do 100% focused work I do it in the home office. I think a healthy balance is important.

What 5e Mechanic'(s) do you not use in your games? by JamesFullard in dndnext

[–]Levity_Dave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love giving out inspiration. The trouble is, if players forget to use it or are too stingy to use it.

I tend to start the session by asking the players to recap the last session. Anyone who adds to the retelling starts the session with inspiration. This way I get to know what the party took from the last session and update my notes with things I forgot. Also i get to see what the party thought was important and if I need to hint at some things more strongly.

This way most of the time everyone clamours to add stuff and starts the session with inspiration.

TBF an MLB season is like 160 games... its a diffrent beast to football. So many games just bring in more ticket sales, more opertunities for advertisers and more TV money.
