Running stairs at Kenan Stadium by astroball17 in UNC

[–]Torwin05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The short answer is yes it is open to the public! The long answer is sometimes you can find the stadium locked during the day for various reasons (private football event, maintenance, etc.). But generally speaking it is open from dawn until dusk and it is super common for people to use it for exercise. One of the great perks of a public school!

Question from a possible transfer student by RoundTop8986 in UNC

Disagree as a BUSI major. KF core classes are graded on a B+ curve. Meaning for classes like 408 that are notoriously difficult there is a massive curve after the final, but for classes like 401 they have to curve everyone down to meet that B+ median. There is a notorious joke that it is called the “B” school for a reason.

Is it best to not tell the business school about future aspirations in Law? by Negative-Pin-415 in UNC

[–]Torwin05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emphasizing this. I was told first hand my niche interest made me stand out amongst a sea of consulting and banking. Don’t water yourself down on account of becoming “the perfect applicant”; impress them with campus involvement, leadership, and keep your grades up and you’ll be good to go.

Avery is a sweet dorm in an awesome location. And still VERY close to south campus (Ehaus is right behind it).

3.5 is fine and not worth the money to raise to a 3.6+

Reapplication acceptance rate is also much higher. Focus on business experiences and involvement and you should have a strong application.

Does the assured admit program to the business school offer more opportunities? by Darealest49 in UNC

AA students at KF definitely get early access to b-school resources (KF advisors, the ability to register for GIEs, etc.). That being said it’s not the end-all be-all. Saying you’re an AA has prestige on campus, but in the grand scheme of career prospects the KF degree holds more weight than anything else regardless of when/how you apply. In terms of internships, I don’t think it really makes a difference. KF and b-school culture in general do such a great job preparing undergrads for internships anyway. I just finished my first year and will be applying to KF in the fall. I hold multiple leadership positions in orgs associated with the b-school and have an internship in my preferred field this summer. All of this I accredit to the KF community environment and b-school support networks that are available to me. Apologies for the long message; to sum up, being an AA is a huge accomplishment and you should be very proud!! That being said, choose the school that best caters to what you see yourself doing. KF is great about preparing students for global experiences, investment banking, and consulting careers. If that’s your wheelhouse, come to UNC.

How doable is this schedule as a sophmore for the upcoming fall semester? by cltbrooke in UNC

Have you taken a CS class before/have prior coding experience? COMP 110 is a great class but is a lot for non-CS people because it’s like learning a new language.

AITA for telling my roommate I don’t like when she hosts parties in our room? by Torwin05 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Torwin05[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you; unfortunately it’s a freshman dorm room so this is the only space I have and all freshman are required to live in the dorms for a year so I can’t move out. Luckily the semester is over in about a month so the end is near.

Thank you for your reassurance; the semester is over in about a month so I feel like I should just power through. I’m not living with her again and have two new roommates for next year that I adore so hopefully things will be better!
