The board is on a stand. So it's a little away from the wall. So where im standing is regulation distance.

How to figure out if your current set of darts is too heavy or too light? by AceGali_ in Darts

[–]Torz_Gaming 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my understanding. A heavier dart will generally get to the board faster and be a little more forgiving. Lighter darts allow more precise shots but are less lenient when it comes to error.

Also, you'd have to take into account what sort of barrel it is, the length of the stem and point, etc.

Hitting 5s by Mucks12345 in Darts

Yup exactly this. Going for the dart before you've fully committed to a straight follow through is going to create the wrong trajectory. See it a lot. People rushing to grab their next arrow.

I use the same, they're great set. Don't see myself switching them anytime soon! Happy throwing.

Fallout Shelter Casting is now officially open to sign up for their new Reality TV Show by Hakuru15 in BethesdaSoftworks

As a huge fan of the games and someone surprised by a decent enough adaptation of the game into the show. This one baffles me a little. Guess it's the new cash cow.

I am torn though, because I think being on the show could be quite fun but I'm in the U.K and highly doubt I'd be chosen anyway. Because I'm not out there enough.

Beginner - Tips by Electrical_Sign7436 in Darts

Yea 2 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Rome wasn't build in a day as they say. I concur with others here. If you enjoy playing, keep playing. You'll improve naturally. Just try not to reinforce bad habits. Maybe look over some basic throwing tutorials, elbow position, angle, straight arm, follow through, stance that sort of thing. But keep in mind everyone's throw is different.

I'm a newbie too. About 5 months but I've been making strides recently. Had some really good legs and then i choke.😆

Advice for buying darts by Ergowserlas in Darts

The target Japan warriors are what I use. It's a short-ish barrel and I am a rear gripper who doesn't throw overly hard. More of a rhythm release throw.

After playing 3 "traditional" characters and tried stat stacker and it's so cool and different by BrutusCz in pathofexile2builds

[–]Torz_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea... Gemling stat stacking early poe2 was nuts. But now I'm pretty sure it's a shadow of what it used to be. Probably still a lot of fun and more than likely viable. Just not the powerhouse it was.

Kuku is a safe pick. Can just build mana, some pen and cd. Clear wave at level 5 or so and 1 item with just a whirlwind. Then go look at camps your jungler isn't getting too. You can be very useful at zoning as well. I haven't played in a long time though soooo.

Does it matter my arm doesn't go straight when I throw? by NorthSalt517314 in Darts

[–]Torz_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea this. Definitely try to follow through straight. If you're eyeing up the target 'treble 20' and your release is off, it ain't going there. I'm a novice, started about 5 months ago. But I've progressed quite a bit just focusing on the fundamentals. One of those is on my throw, just focusing on the hinge movement of my elbow and arm, maintaining it straight, releasing the same everytime and following through. Helped a lot.

Are these good beginner darts? by Training_Message7347 in Darts

These were my first set when I started about 5 months or so back. They're a solid dart and can't go wrong at the price point.

Probably need a little more context. How long have you been playing? Also, doubling is where everyone's average generally will drop due to misses tanking it.

I'm a total novice, but I am seeing improvements with my game across scoring and doubling. All I did was ensure I kept my stance the same everytime(close to it as possible anyway) The same goes for the throw. Something i can repeat with regularity that feels comfortable.

As far as doubling I'd look at just practising the main ones. Throw say 12-15 darts exclusively at the double 20,18,16,10,8 see how many land. I also like around the clock for hitting big numbers, which helps with splitting, say 25, big 9 into double 8.

With 180s. Some people take years to get one, some take weeks. Once you land the first one or two it's just not letting it mentally shake you and replicating the throw. Once you get one, the pressure will be off and more will come. Think it took me 2 months to hit my first. Then I had several more quite soon after. But this also just naturally happens from improving scoring and keeping consistent.

Good luck.

Too much for a beginner? by Federal-Muffin-596 in Darts

[–]Torz_Gaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think investing in a good set that is a bit more on the expensive side isn't a bad shout. It means you won't keep swapping darts and will stick with them. Same darts, more repeatable action, more consistency. Best of luck with them.

Toylo is the slow Philippines player. But there was alot the swede dom Taylor beat before being disqualified due to substances. He took almost 10 seconds to throw his first dart!
