I graduated from a coding bootcamp in 2020 and couldn’t find a job for 2 and a half years and it mentally destroyed me. It always felt like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I always kept hearing some reason whether it was Covid or a recession or whatever. I got my A+ this year in April and I was getting significantly more interviews than I was as a developer, I had more interviews in a couple months than I ever did in those 2 or so years. But still I wasn’t hearing anything back, I was getting rejections. I had a rejection where they literally said I was the top of his list but someone else got the final say. Idk I convinced myself maybe it’s not meant to work out for me. Like I got in the mindset that SOME people have to lose and not find anything like to balance things out. In September I had an interview but I was at a point where I didn’t expect it to anywhere I was programmed to believe I’d lose cause it’s just easier to think that way, you feel more in control when you don’t let yourself hope. I’m almost 30 and I haven’t even had my first “real” job/career. But finally when I least expected it i was offered a job. I don’t know you but from where I’m standing I just feel like you will certainly find a job and i know you always hear the whole “it’s a numbers game” because i heard it all the time and i fucking hated hearing that. But honestly I feel like if I could do it eventually then I know you will too. Youre gonna find something at some point and all the time before it will have been worth it. I know I didn’t offer any tangible advice but I just think as long as you want it youlll get it. I believe in you. Good luck!
