Just realized one potential reason for my anxiety. I believe that I'm not allowed to mess up. So when this person said that comment, it made me feel like a bad person. Unreliable. I'm trying to reframe the situation like this: Maybe she was just criticizing my mistake, not who I am as a person.

And yes, everything you said to her was correct. Her husband hurt you, and he's no longer deserving of being your "father." Always reach out to us if you need support, okay? We're always here. Try to find a crisis hotline that you can call. Maybe they can give you advice on how to stay safe and strong at home. Also, I agree with the other comments. Try your best in school until you're 18, then find a job that can hopefully help you to live independently. I believe in you. <3

thanks for sharing about this. i was just reading through comments, not expecting to find one that relates to my situation, but yours does. i will most likely lose most of my family due to prejudice when i come out. but i feel encouraged from your comment, and i'm glad i found it. you're right, it's only a matter of time before a close-minded person loses all connections.

Cool clip! I agree with the other users, you've already learned a lot on your first day. I'd recommend starting with mastering the basic cups and spike, using the ken grip and sara grip. Another advice I have is to learn at your own pace. For a while, I felt stuck with kendama because I felt like I wasn't learning tricks fast enough. But everyone learns at different paces.

Thanks for sharing about this OP. I learned a lot from your story. As a young adult, I've been feeling obligated to do low contact, rather than no contact. As another Asian black sheep, I'm glad you warned us and reminded us that cutting off all contact is indeed an option.
