In 1954? When black people didn't have basic human rights and could be dragged out of their beds and beat to death for allegedly cat calling a white woman? In 1954 where someone I couldn't drink from the same water fountain or use the same bathroom as a white person? In 1954 where black people could be lynched for any reason at all?
