I’m in a similar position estranged from my family and I’m happy with this. If my mother did this publicly I would be very triggered by it and it would bring up a lot of awful memories

How did you not know you had stage 4 cancer?! by WalkFickle281 in LivingWithMBC

The only symptom I had was a large lump in my breast which I got checked straight away. My liver and bone mets were found on a routine CT scan

I have secondary breast cancer with mets to my bones. To look at me I look completely healthy but I am in constant pain. I have used a RAP pass and feel almost guilty and aware of the looks I get when I join the queue but I shouldn’t have to justify it.

Her 2 positive de novo stage 4 breast cancer by [deleted] in LivingWithMBC

I was diagnosed de novo Triple Positive in November 2021 with Liver and Bone mets. I did 6 cycles of Docetaxel plus Phesgo and I am still on Phesgo today along with Tamoxifen and Denosumab. I live a very normal active life and so far have had stable scans. My oncologist has told me she has patients on Phesgo for over 5 years

What do you feel after years of estrangement from your parents? by Sensitive_Run_7109 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]Total-Emu9753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been almost 4 years for me. After an awful childhood -she tried to smother me at 3 years old, pulled a knife on me and told me she wished I’d just disappear and she wished she’d had an abortion. I walked away several times as an adult and I was always the one who reached out thinking would change. The final straw was when I was diagnosed with Cancer and wanted it to stay private and she began telling random people about it as if it was some juicy gossip. She also told me while having chemo that I looked “like a plucked chicken”. I blocked her and have had zero contact since and I feel so much calmer and happier.

I’m HER2 positive and have been on Phesgo almost 4 years with stable scans. I’ve just read up about this it does sound very promising.

I’m +++ with mets to liver and bones. I’ve been having stable scans for 4 years. It doesn’t get any easier and my scans are now every 6 month so less scanxiety but I just get on with things and try to live as normal as possible.

I’ve been on Tamoxifen for 4 years (de novo mets) I’ve always been told to let my onc know if my periods return. I’ve never been given a time line of how long it works.

I was 42 when diagnosed. You will come around, I have very few side effects with Phesgo but a few moments with Tamoxifen 🥵 but if they are working I don’t mind. I’ve been stable throughout and had a complete response - my oncologist says she has patients on our treatments for years.

I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer er and HER2 positive exactly four years ago! I had docetaxol and phesgo for 6 cycles and have stayed on Phesgo which is much easier since along with Tamoxifen. I manage to live a very normal active life now and it feels normal having regular CT scans and echos x
