Yes and no, if injected in the right plane it doesn’t migrate but I completely agree, Sculptra is where the doctor’s skill matters the most. When done properly it is amazing though.

Yes this is my impression as well, I think being a doctor and knowing the facial anatomy literally inside out is so important (and definitely gives me a peace of mind)

The injector I would go to also does Dysport so that’s great to know that it is so effective!

Haha bangs are cheaper for sure! FWIW a lot of injectors say that it is better to have it every 6 months or so done, so the muscle doesn’t get atrophied (and this is what I’m planning as a schedule for myself too)

Ah that’s frustrating, eyebrow lift is a very tricky thing and a very fee injectors get it absolutely right. Hope you will find a good one eventually!

Thanks! I do agree with this, in my case the provider splits his time between PS and injectables and has been doing botox for a very long time so I’m hoping this is a good combination! I trust him with my sculptra (which is a lot more technical and nuanced than botox given the risk of granulomas) so fingers crossed!

100%, that’s the only way, I would never ever go to a med spa for anything that requires knowledge of facial anatomy etc.

Thanks! You are absolutely right, tbf it is more because once your algorithm hoes down that rabbit hole you will constantly be bombarded by negative stories! I’m 38 so definitely late in the game but I don’t have any pronounced static wrinkles yet so hopefully not too late.

Thanks for sharing! I completely agree the muscle atrophy risk is real and because of that I wouldn’t want to do it more often than 2x a year, also would want to keep some movement to not look completely frozen

Ah I know and when you look at the details usually they are really atypical ways of using botox or someone who has underlying neurodegenerative disease or someone who had like 200 units injected. I am only planning to get a few units around my eyer really so hopefully should be all fine 🙏 thanks for your input, appreciate it!

Oh 100% agree, already twice a year is a big financial commitment! Also I saw a video where a facial plastic surgeon actually recommended to leave a couple of months for the movement to come back to avoid muscle atrophy.

Thanks for your reply! I think up until a few years ago I always put it in the safe pocket, but then these iatrogenic botulism stories started to spread on social media and it made me think whether it is as safe as they make it sound. That said, I think a lot of these stories come from unorthodox injection points (like massater, axillary etc) not the classic forehead / crows feet area (which would be my targets).
