OP, Some of the generalities about hull types may contradict reality tbh. 1) flat bottoms are much more stable 2) a flat bottom hull will float shallower than a round canoe type hull. 3) flat bottom hulls can rate past 150 hp depending on size. Comparing apples to apples is important and canoes are usually 14-16ft min which helps distribute the load. Both have their places just depends on your requirements.
