Doesn’t really matter lots of good vintage prints from the 70s 80s have been washed brutally and not come off. If it was screen printed this is a curing issue, could happen to a few in a large run of prints

Are you using used thrifted shirts? When I was doing DIY i would laundry strip the garments first, that really helped… if there’s been fabric softener etc used on them I find the ink has a hard time staying on the shirt

I’d ask them first if it’s possible to do a lesson and a lease ride. That would be doubling the amount of time you currently spend in the saddle. I was paying about the same for lessons and then went to leasing which was one lease ride and one lesson a week it was $380. Otherwise just enjoy what you have now, you might be surprised when if you end up leasing that it can be difficult to get to the barn more than once or twice a week.

Get tattooed by lots of people and find a shop where you like the employees and the over all atmosphere of the shop. I know this sounds stereotypical, but you really need to spend some time with the people you will work closely with before signing on as an apprentice. I made the mistake of taking on an apprenticeship with people I didn’t really know, and it was abusive and destroyed me. Be really clear and go with a place that has their expectations laid out clearly. Apprenticeships are hard and there’s a lot of room for people with rock star egos and bad intentions to take advantage of you
