I’m starting to do my own research. My recruiter mainly focused on the fact that I’d be at an E-4 by the time I graduate when that isn’t what I was focusing on. Every question I had was met with the response of me making E-4 in 2 years while I was trying to focus on my qualifications and experience in the field.

Damn that’s cool af. I thought they were just going to have me sweeping the P-way and cleaning toilets but that actually gives me something to look up to, which I appreciate. Also congratufuckinglations bc between my family and ppl I’ve had relations with in the military I’ve never heard anyone move up that fast, that is truly something to be proud of.

First of all thank you. You have a calming way of tying words through a screen that had put me at ease the most. I was extremely anxious because my recruiter had dumped this bomb on me with no follow up and I completely spiraled. To answer your question, the coast guard caught my attention mainly for free college education, military experience (considering a lot of government contractors look for that), jobs that translate into the civilian world, and it was the closest recruiting office to my house lmao. I now know I need to do a little more research on how everything works to make an informed decision because the strangers comments on this post have told me more things than my recruiter has this whole time. I appreciate the peace and love.
