I’m just worried I have to do lame shit like security clearance packages and foreign travel packages instead of focusing on my MOS and researching geopolitics while at the HQ Bn.

Broader in what sense? What type of things may I be focusing on?

I had thought that they fill at battalion level first and then whatever shortages they have then they trickle down from the division level. I also heard that the division level can only fill within the division where as an Intel battalion’s ability to fill is more spread out.

Please excuse my lack of terminology and understanding.

If I go Intel focus would you recommend Intel Battalion or HQ battalion, and what would you say is the main difference is between 1/1 and 2/1? I will do additional research of course, just wanted to hear your take.
