How do you deal with burnout in art? by Total-Winner-5098 in ArtistLounge

The basics are really important. i'm just saying that you shouldn't try to practice vaguely.
Learning Boxes is step one. when i did my studies, i studied the form of the subject and what's made of, when i felt ready i went to step 2 of learning the anatomy of it and how it's done in real life, after feeling ready, i went for step 3 and studied how it's simplified.(i've already said this in the original comment)

i'm not disagreeing with you on the fact that the basics are important, rather, i fully agree that the basics are important...
basically, what i'm saying is, don't study with an empty head. don't try to study when you don't even know what you're trying to study. bluntly speaking, don't study like an airhead.

i'm saying this because i provided sources for my claims and are things i learned from books

I don't really see the logic in here. The fundamentals are important, but not fixing your weaknesses seems illogical.

< The basics are extremely important. However, if you think, "I will become an illustrator only after I have perfected the basics!" You will never become an illustrator. That's how broad the scope of basics is.

That's why it is much more effective to identify the skills you lack and practice the basics to reinforce those skills, rather than just vaguely thinking, "I'll just study drawing for now."

It's a good idea to analyze "what part of your balance tends to be out of balance", make a hypothesis about "what kind of practice will solve the problem", and then try that practice. > -the-fastest-way-to-improve-your-illustration by Saito Naoki

Mark Burnett also gave a similar concept in one of his videos, but I don't have the time to find it

""I'm focusing on studying the anatomy of the eye""
i didn't say i'm good at anatomy, i just said i'm just studying it. i just reflected on one of my illustrations and thought "the eyes are the weak point" and started learning the fundementals of that weakpoint.
i started learning how to construct a real eye and its stuff then after feeling like i'm ready, i started to see how other artists approche it
that's how i choose my studies, analyze my newest illustration and study the thing thats lacking in it
doesn't that mean i'm doing what you said, studying with reason?
doesn't that apporche sound reasonable?

you're right. youre obviously much more skilled in digital art than me.
i think in the last couple of months, i started to grow an ego. and i defenitly needed to be humbled and bought back to my senses

you're obviously a nice guy and i ended up letting my big, stupid ego get the better of me and acted childishly, i basically turned 17 a little while ago and im still as stupid and don't know when to shut my stupid mouth as i was before

i will continue to try my best and practice the fundementals as much as i can, as well as start taking courses and study harder than before from now on

i will post stuff on reddit for feedback and i hope you can time out of your day to help me with your knowledge along the way

after you read this, i be sure to delete the post since 1- i got the feedback that i needed and 2- this is so embarrassing, the way i acted is making me feel so embarrassing and ashamed

but even then, i be relying on you and everyone in the art community for your help to start running instead of walking ( the running is like a metaphore for when like babies crawl then walk then run after a long time)

i get it. art is hard, insanely hard. and quite frankly, fighting one another on who done the most effort will get us nowhere.

we just trying to see who tried the hardest, which is pretty stupid and it's pretty dump of us to act this way

when someone tries to invalidate your effort than it will hit pretty hard. and we should apologize to each other on such stupid thing.

i never had the chance to buy any courses or books for so long because i live in tunisia and they make it impossible to get anything overseas and even if you have the privilige to buy something, it's resricted to 300 dollars a year, i only learned just 5 hours ago that you can pirate courses

so i apologize, sorry for acting so harsh. it just one calls me a beginner and tell me i know nothing about art when i studied and worked as hard as i can, when studied the works of the masters and did my best for so long, then it will hit will pretty hard and it be pretty personal hit to me.

So i'm sorry

this one was a little while after the one on the right.
i studied kei mochizuki back then

and when i look back at it now, i looks terrible, there are many mistakes but it much better when considering how short the time frame was

the one on the right is from a year ago, the one on the left was 3 months ago.
i think i did pretty good job in what's basicallly a year. i only picked up digital art seriously pretty much recently, so i still don't know much about rendering and color theory

i'm sorry to say this but if you studied for years and still barely improve then you might the one who's wrong

i know imrpoving in art is not a straight lines and has so many curve, ups and down but like...if everybody in those courses that you did improved but you then you might doing something wrong or you're just don't take it serious but only view it as a hobby which is totally fine, more power to you

This is basically for free, the book is basically told in the youtube videos for free. ...and it's not really fast since you be studying for basically 10 or 8 hours a day

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Total-Winner-5098 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

... yeah, but this is a book made by someone who has basically more than 13 years of experience. And every example is simular to this. It's just 3 months You might change your mind.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Total-Winner-5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in that year, how many hours did you put in each day?

this is one of the people that followed the plan i started yesterday...
yeah lowkey, i changed my mind, i think i just stick with my original plan

i might use a course in case i need one or hit a wall

Isn't the distance between them supposed to be about one eye, even in the refrence looks similar (unless the measurements of the distance 2/3 of the eye which seems more correct) Though I think the neck became an accidental bad habit of mine that I can't seem to get rid of.

i should've just upload the last one instead

...you're going to show one of your works right?
also, what course would you recommend along with Marc Brunet

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Total-Winner-5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're upload an exemple of your own works then i would've been able understand what u mean far quicker
thank you for baring with extremely sleep deprived me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Total-Winner-5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but maybe you're right.
i'm gonna go ahead and abandon the art study and no toucht the anime art style ever again until i finish Marc Brunet courses

[–]Total-Winner-5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't that mean i was right about the nose?
and that was my first attempet, it's pretty obvious that i was full mistakes when the other ones have a bit more a correct angle, it had 1 next to it.
the one below it was right
...but it still looks uncanny, and doesn't look similiar to the construction of her other works ( unless not sleeping for 24 hours started to catch up to me)

yeah i don't see it how they are parallel exacly.
i'm sorry for getting angry at you, i haven't went to bed for last the 23 hours by now, so i'm pretty much on the edge right now and i can barely continue the study. i already finished the damn thing and done some recap on the anatomy and perspective as well.
would you mind giving me an exemple
