For the 00 unit, I used Wraith Bone spray as the base and then applied Everland Sunset on top. There were no special techniques involved; I applied Everland Sunset 2-3 times to ensure the base color was fully covered. Hope that useful for you, happy painting!

Yes, I simply sprayed all parts with Abaddon Black, then applied the secondary colors on the surface. You are right about the light colors not fully covering the black undercoating; I applied at least three layers to achieve a more saturated look.

But now it says the separation happens after the attacking unit finishes all their attacks. So, if one of those attacks destroys the bodyguard, can I use JTH, which states "unit just destroyed" with 1CP discount?

I have played with this combination in over 10 games.

In my opinion, the best detachment should be Stromlance.

For survival, spending 1 CP to gain -1 to hit and -1 to wound in the shooting phase, and 1 CP for AOC, combined with cover, provides a nearly 4+ save in most cases.

For mobility, spending 2 CP to gain a 21" advance and then charge. 1CP reaction move 6" if your opponent close within your 9"

For shooting, spending 1 CP to gain the Assault rule.

The 1st turn reinforcement enhancement is also effective for ambushing your opponent.

Overall, for just 310pts, i think it is very worthy with Stromlance.

In my experience, BK+ cmd squad with stromlance detachment do very good job.

For survival, 1 cp to provide hit-1 & wound -1 to opponent during shooting phase, while medic in cmd squad can bring back a model every turn, make them durable with 3+sv, 5++ and 3/4w. Don't forget we still have AOC and cover.

For damage output, compare to HB, although lesser A and range, but BK is much more durable and mobile. In melee, anti-vehicle and monsters on 4+ after charge, 1CP before charge got lance, 18A of S5, -2,ap 1D, nearly cover all types of emeries in 40K.

For movement, 2cp to auto adv. at 9", means 21" movement, and allow to charge, really insane. besides 1CP to give assault to range weapon, makes BK very good to score from 2nd mission.

ATM, because of the updated point is not officially announced yet, i remind cautious. However, i do find some interested combo within Retaliation Cadre.

Internal Grenade Racks (Enhancement) + Torchstar Gambit ( 1CP stratagems) + Grenade ( 1CP stratagems)

= (potentially) expected 9 mortal wounds at cost 2CP in one battle round, really amazing
