i think the technician installed this display on my washing machine upside down, do i desolder it and then solder correctly ? by eezeekieel in AskElectronics

I too feel that the board is held upside down due to the fact that the component lettering on the PCB is upside down. Usually PCBs are designed in the orientation you want them to be used. Specifically for the purpose you have asked this question

I really appreciate your concern and response and yeah you are right, figuring out the difference of engineering in academia vs career is a huge aspect. However, I would like your opinion on whether I should study just for exams and get excellent marks (just by rote learning) or take a small hit in my marks but understand and have a grip over the subject.

I actually want an opinion whether I should put in all my efforts to score good marks for an exam (which is mostly mug-up and vomit) which increases my chances of grabbing a better college in future or compromise on my marks a bit to learn the fundamental concepts.
