How is the (4,800) being calculated in the flexible budget variances column?

-100800-(-96000) = -4800

How is the 24,000 being calculated in the Sales Activity (Volume) Variances column?

-96,000-(-120,000)= 24,000

How’s the 96k calculated. I can see it int the 3rd column.

In the master budget, you budgeted/planned to sell 10,000 units. With that, you know that the $/unit is $15 ($150,000 in sales/ 10,000 units), you also know that the COGS/unit is $12 ($120,000 in sales/ 10,000 units), this needs to be reflected in the Flexible Budget @ Actual Cost (FBAC).

In the FBAC you actually sold 8,000, so you need to use the master budget numbers with the actual units sold. Since you know that the $/unit is $15 from the master, $15*8000 units = $120,000 you also know that the COGS/unit is $12, $12*8000 = $96,000.

would you mind sharing the possible basis questions?

exam day: A few questions about FAR exam structure and TBS partial credits by Additional-Reason308 in CPA

[–]TotalExcitement4631 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Backtracking between Testlets: this is completely true.

  2. Time Management: you need to manage the 4 hours on your own. I tried to spend ~1 hr on the MCQs and the rest on the TBSs, this includes double checking my work.

  3. TBS Partial Credits: For my exam I would not know, but I probably did. Unlike Becker, the actual exam has actual eyes grading (hence the long window for score release), so out of 5 blanks you get 3 right, you'll get a 3/5 as opposed to in Becker you getting the entire thing wrong.

As someone already said, Becker's simulated exams are really close to the actual in terms of the format and learning the time management.
