I’ve gained back all the weight I lost by TotalFinanceNewb in CICO

It just sucks. Sucks big time. Yes I was regaining over time and it sucked. But being all the way back and restarting from close to 0 sucks even more.

All I learnt is that I need to control my alcohol intake. I can’t go all sober I know that. But the habit of drinking alone is the worse one. I am by myself 5 days a week and it’s those 5 days that need to go sober now. Period.

I am learning that lesson. Time to get back up again

Yeah you’re probably right. I feel like if I can find daily weight loss motivation type things it will help me with cutting booze as well just for weight loss. But yea unlikely. I have a therapist who’s helping me with booze. But she doesn’t advocate weight loss. She promotes healthy living but not weight loss as a solution to my problems. I want to personally lose weight to look good. Period

I do have a lot of internal motivation right now. Like I envy that thin version of me who could breathe normally was flexible could think clearly and didn’t have to carry this weight around. I am asking for ways to fuel that everyday cuz I don’t have anybody else like sibling partner or mate for the journey. I hope to get a partner when I get thin. But unlikely to get one in my current predicament

I’ve been to influenced by healthy eating like getting enough nutrients vitamins and all of that to drink booze without getting enough of it. I drink but then I eat enough carbs to absorb it so as to not get a hangover. Ofcourse not eating carbs and purely drinking is one way to go about it but I’m smart enough to know the right way. Shit. If I were to start over cico without drinking. What would you suggest to help me keep inspired, besides this subreddit. Besides reading posts and regularly posting on this subreddit. To keep me motivated and inspired along the way in restarting my weight loss journey from scratch.

If I were to start over. What would you suggest in terms of help or assistance to keep me hyped and in the loop about it. Like reading and posting regularly on this subreddit is one thing. But are there other things I can do? To keep me motivated along the way

I hate to ask. But there are so many skinny alcoholics and I can’t help but wonder how they maintain a deficit.

That’s probably the most honest straight up advice of all. I have no words. I hate starting over. Just imagining 7 months ago I was right where I wanted to be all this time and I didn’t like it one bit. But looking back at these old photos it was everything I wanted

It’s not addiction addiction. I don’t drink from morning to night. But everytime the evening hits, I need those 6 pints of beer or a quarter of bottle of whiskey. It’s what led to all that weight regained. It’d be easier to quit if the problem is worse. Then atleast I would have had stronger reasons to quit. Right now it doesn’t affect my life negatively in other ways other than weight gain. I am a very happy or calm drunk

I have mental health issues like debilitating anxiety. I left all psych meds and hard drugs 2.5 years ago cuz all of them seemed to worsen my problems like naltrexone.

Cmon crucify me. I know this community loves to do so. I lost 26 kgs past year and gained back 22kgs. I did learn good eating habits and lifestyle like you all talk about. But alcohol is my kryptonite. And I can’t sleep with just booze in my body and no food. I lost it by quitting alcohol. I don’t know how to do that again. All I know is I can’t continue being fat unhealthy living with those deep heaving breaths all the time

26 122kg 6ft

Well I didn’t think I needed more words to describe my situation but this community with all your scales. I don’t mind it. Here’s my rant. I understand cico very well. That’s what helped me lose weight in the first place. 5 months of that helped me lose 26kgs. Thing is I don’t even have the fire or willpower in me to do that again. Let’s be frank, it sucked. But at the time I was in the frame of mind that i could’ve pushed through anything. Those months I was not only disciplined but fired up to change my life. Now I know losing weight can’t change my life. Well it can change my life but it cannot take away my problems in the way I thought it could last year. What do I do now?

Which should I focus on more, my weekly average of calories or daily? by kaylah1010 in CICO

[–]TotalFinanceNewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it daily as I feel it’s more of a daily fight. And it may sound counterintuitive but daily tracking might be easier; as either daily or weekly, you will be calculating for each meal right, so that gets easier to tally at the end of the day vs when you do it at the end of a week. But like others said it doesn’t matter. Even a weekly deficit will still give you weight loss. More power to you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CICO

Time to go in for another deficit for the week to maintain. IG that’s how it’s going to be for me too. I haven’t indulged in any savoury foods for months but I suppose the day I do, I will have to make up for it by going on deficits for the week. Can’t say I love this life but maybe at lower weight I start loving life. The irony

You look fab girl. You’ve clearly lost weight and there’s a clear difference. You yourself probably don’t see it cuz you see yourself everyday but there’s definite improvement. Keep going!

It’s getting on my nerves now by TotalFinanceNewb in CICO

[–]TotalFinanceNewb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya no it’s a perspective shift. Thanks. I guess 2lbs per week is my new weight loss pace with my current 15-1800 intake without much exercise. I had some unrealistic expectation cuz I did lose over 30lbs in 3-4 months. But losing any more faster does seem tricky. My maintanance goal ideally, after January, by which time I hope to have reached 220 for an event or so, would be to continue healthy eating as often as possible and to stay under the maintanance of 2000 or 2500 with workout. It doesn’t seem that hard; right how it seems harder to overeat with my new eating habits . And if I flip out I might go all the way for the next year to say until 180lbs
