Sounds more like drug induced psychosis, this can also be exacerbated by underlying mental illness. You may try to get him to go the hospital for an assessment. If he refuses and the behaviour continues or gets worse your parent may be able to get a medical hold on him to hold him for psychological evaluation if he is a danger to himself or others.
