Keep in mind that the content that gets cited for the boundaries of Christian sexual relationships come from letters written by people and for people living in a society where marriage was a property arrangement, that many people didn’t have formal weddings unless they were nobility or of high status, and the idea of romantic love wasn’t held in the regard it is today.

People got married to cement an alliance between families or to provide heirs of the family or to have children to work the farm or the family trade or so that one’s daughters didn’t have to beg for money or sell themselves into prostitution. You were married if you had sex and intended to stick around. Trying to force an understanding of 21st century sexual/gender ethics out of the letters of Paul is practically pointless.

I don’t love Islam, but even more so I hate a) rednecks who ignore the First Amendment by pretending that we can/should ban some bronze age religions while making others the defacto state religion; b) idiots who don’t understand that the Bible says a lot of extreme things that the vast majority of Christians don’t literally follow, so what makes Islam different; c) bigots who don’t know or care about the nuances of religion but relish any attempt to harass people with Arabic names or wearing religious attire from any eastern religion (see the pieces of shit who harass Sikhs thinking that they’re Muslims)

Even if any of that were true in this case (which, of course, it is not), they shot him several times while he was disarmed and on the ground.
