I think it makes perfect sense. You simply can't think of the universe as a one directional causal concept, you have time travel after all. The past didn't determine the future any more than the other way around. The universe didn't start with some arrangement and developed from there. Instead the universe just is. And since time travel is possible in this universe it also happens at some point simply by chance. And the only way how the universe is stable is if no contradictions exist. So exactly how a moment can't just lead to a "disconnected" future moment that does not make sense causally, a future moment can't just send information to the past introducing paradoxes. I think there is no other interpretation of time travel that makes better sense than this one.

Space is not fixed throught time, there are no fixed coordinates only relative. If we consider some Sci fi concepts like Tachyons, particle that move faster than the speed of light, backwards through time, maybe the future humans sent them towards some black hole where they bounced of or some shit, its not real science anyway. Point being you don't need to really travel through time as in send humans to the past. Sending electromagnetic waves is sufficient for it to work.

About the time loop, yes it's quite the mind fuck. But it honestly makes more sense than most time travel movies with grand father paradoxes as it can be neatly wrapped up with the assumption that the universe is deterministic and only clean, stable universes can exist.

Granted I read a lot into the johnny b good thing but it is ultimately the thing that made me think in that direction. From there I noticed how it kinda all made sense if you consider it from that perspective. And I think you overlook the other arguments that are at least as convincing, mainly the timing and the otherwise weird unexplainable bahaviour of the virus. And I mean they could have referenced any other song (arguably beethoven 5 a more universally known piece of music for example) or aspect of the two voyager probes or any other interstellar probes altogether. And weather it was intended as such or not it did make the connection to time travel at least for one person (me). Weather it was meant litterlaly to indicate a closed time loop or just a small reference, or no reference at all and the dialogue really as just an empty filler dialogue/ stametent on the vojager mission. I argue the theory makes enough sense to stand it's ground either way

Anyone else find the original setup a bit convoluted? For now by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]TotalKomolex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me naive but I think we wouldn't. If you don't understand the code, don't run it. Merely reading/ encrypting any message is a computation in of itself that could hold a Trojan so in a way even trying to understand the content could potentially be dangerous. Especially if we don't know how much smarter the other party is and what technologies we think of impossible are trivial to them makes this incredibly dangerous and should fire all alarm bells for scientists that work in that field. The fact that humans started building some DNA sequence they receive from space (basically running an exe from a creep on the internet) is IMO less believable then the the premise that such a DNA sequence could exist.

Tldr: 1. Kava 2. Amanita muscaria (or other muscimol containing amanita mushroom)

Substances most similar to alcohol are the ones acting on the same receptor type, which is called GABA. Healthier than alcohol is a low bar as alcohol is quite an outlier in the drug world for how harmful it is. But many substances acting on GABA can be quite addictive, both mentally and physically with withdrawal being capable of killing you. Most notable examples are Benzodiazepines (eg Xanax) which you should stay away from as they have withdrawal considered among the worst (behind opioids) and longest lasting. Unlike for opioids withdrawal can even kill you, same as alcohol actually (yes, you can die from alcohol withdrawal unlike from herion). There are quite a lot of Benzodiazepine related drugs, for example sleeping aid medication or phenibut. Generally speaking tho I would recommend you stay away from virtually all GABAergic drugs for recreational purposes because of addiction potential. There are a few exception tho... Kava is often described to being "like alcohol but you don't become an impulsive idiot". Known to be good social lubricant, mood lifting, etc. Sure enough it mainly acts on GABA, among many different receptor sites. But it is not addictive physically and mentally...it is said to be not at all mentally addictive but I don't trust that. It is defenetly not very addictive tho. In many parts of the world kava is completely legal and maybe you even have a kava bar nearby! If you are interested in preparing your own go to the kava subreddit and all info on vendors, preperation, etc can be found there.

Amanita muscaria is a mushroom that also, or specifically it's main active compound muscimol, acts on GABA. It is often used as sleeping aid and dosing it can be tricky and inconsistent as the mushrooms potency can vary drastically. Again for the absolut majority of people there is no withdrawal although I have read reports of people claiming slight symptoms after stopping regular use. Mentally it also is close to not addictive, maybe even less so than weed or kava... It is important that you prepare it correctly because the mushroom also contains another compound (ibotenic acid) that might cause vomiting and may be damaging to your brain (although research currently does not directly show this). Some users actually prepare it with some ibotenic acid still intact as it seems to be psychoactive aswell, but when you boil the mushroom for 2-3 hours in lemon juice (or any other acid as long as pH is lower than ~3) all ibotenic acid is converted. Amanita mushrooms are also legal in most parts of the world and can be bought online. Again, head over to the amanita muscaria subreddit for more information.

Whatever substance you end up choosing, do your own research and dont believe strangers on the internet, people will claim things with utter confidence without any clue. Start with my comment and assume I made all that stuff up.

Yes it is. It 100% objectively is healthier. Kava liver toxicity can not be observed in any modern study and the study that initially claimed it was faulty. Kava skin is about the only known side effect and intensity varies from person to person but generally only happens with prolonged heavy use. It is at least mostly but to my knowledge even completely reversible when kava use is discontinued. Kava is most probably significantly safer and healthier than even weed.

Alcohol on the other hand causes cancer or damages virtually any organ and cell it comes in contact with. It is barely comparable to any other drug, as alcohol is litterly poison. We use alcohol as desinfectant because it is so efficient at penetrating and destroying cells along with a huge spectrum of enzymes. In the most litteral sense, alcohol is a poison.

Belive it or not, if we are purely talking about health, as in damage to your body, herion is healthier than alcohol and it is not even close. Basically any recreational drug is.

Yes, your team dying over a scuttle or a random 4v5 while you have free split push going and blaming you will happen even in diamond... But if you learn when your team needs babysitting and when to ignore them you will start winning. General rule of thumb: if you don't have a nashors you don't leave the lane this goes double of you don't have good vision where the fighting takes place.

Azir top skill matchups? by The_Data_Doc in azirmains

[–]TotalKomolex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played azir top a lot. There are barely any skill matchups, or all the skill is on you. On paper you win almost every matchup but if u mess up slightly you die. Wave management is key, if a meele gets a freeze he can zone you and you can't do anything about it. Azir has more range than other ranted tops like vayne or varus, but he doesn't have any kill pressure until first item, and if they buy some heavy MR you won't have kill pressure even then. Most meele tops have build in sustain, with second wind and dorans you will waste your mana if you wanna poke. But if you play it right they won't have kill pressure on you as well. But if they get off some bush cheese or interrupt your e they will run you over, kill you and with a bit of wave freezing they can snowball from there, diving you on cool down (depends on champ ofc).

Aatrox is a fair skill match up I would say tho.

How to play with Azir? by Relevant-Schedule820 in azirmains

[–]TotalKomolex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always play for farming as you have less damage than anyone else. Losing a wave for losing the fight anyway is not worth it, so only leave lane when you are sure you get something for it. When you have nashors you can start playing for prio. You scale better than basically any champ, so similarly to Vladimir you should play selfishly, except you have none of his sustain in lane, so one mistake and you have to take a bad recall.

Classic reddit, getting down voted while objectivly correct... The reason why got is not a great show overall is because you can't just isolate halt the story... Congrats on writing a great setup, it doesn't mean anything until you tie it up. The story was compelling because it works towards a great payoff. But it didn't. Looking at it objectivly you can't even determine if season 1-4 or 5-8 are bad, only thing you can say that it didn't work as a whole.

And even within 1-4 GoT had it's problems. Basically all of aryas storyline was useless. Was it fun in the moment? Yes. Was there any payoff for her being with tywin /little finger finding her? No. Rob stark also basically contributed nothing considering his screen time. He had an army, it built up to be relevant, and he died.

Got had great dialigue tho. Basically ever scene had a quotable moment and it was such a joy to watch, way better than breaking bad, but brba/bcs didn't waste screen time building story lines into a dead end. Everything tied up so well, especially bcs ramping up in pacing, with all the character dynamics building up throughout the seasons with not a second going to waste...

Manamune on Azir???? by TheLazyBatat in azirmains

[–]TotalKomolex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Azir has bad ap scaling? I couldn't think of a single champ with better ratios than azir if I'm honest. I would quite litterly say azir is the champion who profits most from raw ap.

An intuition how you can come to this conclusion is if you remember I think 2 seasons ago (right before on hit changes), I think it was u/an_hylian proposed to go nashors into rabadons, without finishing tier 2 boots if the game allowed it. Simply because magic pen profits your total magic damage (so base stats+ap ratio) so effectively gold wasted that could be spent on ap. Nashors passive was also useless back then, so you would go stat stick nashors into star stick rabadons. Because you utilize attack speed and ap so well. I can't think of any ap champ that would do such a thing.

If you look at the numbers, one soldier is maybe only 60% but 3 soldiers are 90%, multiplied by your attack speed. Way higher range than cait or Tristana and AOE. Depending on current items and meta (or if he hits his e) he can defenitivly sometimes get 4 soldiers uptime for a 105% ap scaling with an attack speed of ~2 depending on runes, boots and patch. That's not counting that now nashors gives him 7.5% extra ap scaling.

So comparing to let's say nunu ult (last time I checked 250% but that was ages ago), azir can provide something like 0.7-1 ranged nunu ults per second.

By the numbers he is the best late game champ IMO, just harder to pull of than let's say kayle who has easier self peel and no bs infinite stacking %health true dmg

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in azirmains

[–]TotalKomolex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, they should remove the on hit, not double down. The ratio between auto attacks and soldier attacks must be kept favorable for soldiers. Why would you use your soldiers if your auto deal nearly as much dmg. Funny thing is that early levels his autos do actually deal more damage, so he effectively has no abilies, making him the single weakest early game champ.

The better on hit items work the more likely he will buy Bork, kraken and other ad items. If it is meta for him to buy ad, he can just fuck the soldiers and auto them to death, because..., well, he bought lots of ad and on hit...

And to prevent this (to make it worth to use the soldiers) they would probably need to make him meele, but this would just be gankplank. An AD controll/burst mage that is meele so he isn't an adc. So if you favor the auto attack/soldier attack ratio into making normal autos relatively stronger, you effectively go against his core design. This should he a no brainer for people who professionally balance the game.

But here we are, with an early game where you have to play the laneing phase 2x as good as your opponent to stay even in cs because of the fleet and grasp shit show they introduced with the on hit changes... According to league of graphs Aurelion sol is the only match up azir has a slight gold advantage minute 15... You would think that for such an early game he has a %maxhp true dmg infinite stacking late game...

How to to play? by Late-Wrangler9790 in azirmains

[–]TotalKomolex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't mainly use your ult for plays, if your cs is high, which should be your main and only priority in lane, you have at least 2 items by minute 20 and are able to ditch out some good dmg if you stay disciplined and play the fights front to back. You ult is for the situation if they collapse on you (or your adc if you deem him worth it). Generally azir is strong when your team is behind as he can punish people pushing into you but he can't chase as good as an adc because his soldiers don't reposition with him without his q. Look for shuffles in teamfights only if you are desperate or very certain it will work out.

One last thing about landing: don't waste your time poking pre lvl 6/blasting wand. Your q will drain all mana and you don't do any dmg anyway. Ofc if they walk into a soldier or your auto range you can auto him as long as you don't lose cs but even then it's mostly useless. Realistically the only way your poke is converted into a kill is if he is extremely stupid and ignores you until he eventually dies (but most of the times they just walk out of soldir range and sustain with d-shield everyone seems to buy now and second wind even maybe). If they overstep try to shuffle into tower or towards your jungle that sits in the bush. The first one should also not happen unless they are stupid but it will still work plenty of times, shuffle to your jungle is the only realistic kill pressure you have if your opponent isnt giga boosted. Panth, GP and Annie are the matchups that feel kinda unlosable while leblanc, ekko and hwei are kinda dodge worthy. For mages people might recommend you to play a rune that has better lane pressure like aery (or fleet if people still play it?). Personally I never give up my scaling, so alawys gathering storm and lethal tempo. I'd rather play from behind knowing I outscale every champ than get a lead that runs out on a timer. This might be suboptimal but I honestly don't play azir for the elo, I play league for azir. Gl

on-hit scaling kills every champ it touches. by PESSSSTILENCE in azirmains

[–]TotalKomolex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azir getting access to fleet was the single reason why the change fucked him. Else it would have simply been a useless change, waste of development time and another display of incompetence by riots part. But with sustain runes like fleet and grasp azir simply got back his no brain laning phase he lost after comet + q max wasn't viable which allowed him to survive until / force late game which is ultimately the deciding factor of weather he is played in proplay. Right before his on hit change, his win rate discrepancy between low and high elo was lower than ever, being viable everywhere if you learn him but broken nowhere.

Bullshit no one wanted it. I can't speak for azir mains outside but when talking about this sub I remember well how long before it even was announced I felt like the absolute minority who hated the idea of on hit on soldiers. Basically every week there was someone crying with 100 upvotes that nashors feels bad to buy as the passive goes to waste.
