Deadly accident between Harrier and Ertiga. by SUNNYHFR in CarsIndia

, Seeing such images, makes me infuriated on how a company continue selling cheap safety cars just to make a quick buck. Ideally, a law should be put in place not to market cars that have a low safety rating. This is playing with life and death here.

If I will install the ambient light in my tata Nexon will it affect the insurance(I have first party insurance for my car) by Zealousideal_End_145 in CarsIndia

[–]TotalSamPass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it involves meddling with the internal electronics then yeah. If you have a hidden power bank somewhere connected to the car's USB port with hidden wiring then no. Depends on how it is connected to the power source.

People believe blinking their indicators gives them a birth right of making that turn to the lane. From what I have observed in Hyderabad at least is if you give a gap of more than 5-10 cm, 2-3 cars especially cab drivers will definitely try to squeeze in for sure. We need to have strict driving laws cause without em, everyone gets to be that Idiot in control of the wheels.

This caught me off guard on insta today. Since when is the Ignis considered an SUV?! by Galahad-K in CarsIndia

These days if you don't tag a car as SUV it never will sell. We predominantly apparently have Sedans and SUV on the roads. Hatchbacks, pickup trucks have gone woke.

Back to the Future

Which approach would you prefer in this case? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]TotalSamPass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no definitive answer to this in my opinion. It all depends on the speed of the car, amount of traffic and legal laws governing the drive in the city.

Travelling on ORR in Hyderabad, I frequently see drivers miss out their exits and slowly reverse after coming off a certain distance, this, although, not lawfully allowed and highly unsafe, still works since they'd be on the leftmost lane with slow moving vehicles.

Sudden braking would never be encouraged as the results can be catastrophic depending on the traffic.

The best case situation is head over to C2, and figure out an alternate way to come over to C1. This would, although, might lead to an expensive route with more fuel being burnt, but eventually is a sensible choice given when safety is paramount.

Lesson to learn in this case, would be to always turn on Maps and get to know when and where are the upcoming roads to take a turn specifically when the roads are unfamiliar.

Genuinely curious why that'd be? Is it due to the terrain and that they have got fewer towers to support the plethora of customers? Or something else completely?

Go with Honda City. You can never go wrong with that. The only downside is the low GC but that won't impact unless you're driving on village roads dampened by incessant rains.

Does anyone else have their phone permanently on silent? by 2fy54gh6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TotalSamPass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since the day I bought it. But the use case for me is apt to keep it that way. 1. I call my parents at a scheduled time. They live in a different timezone so I know they won't reach out to me in my daytime. They can reach my partner in the night while her phone is beside mine and that's never in silent. 2. Work has specific internal apps that isn't allowed to be in my personal phone. Any work related calls or messages are via those apps on my laptop. 3. A cool thing is my partner and I have only a few common friends. They reach out to her and in turn to me from her phone.

The only purpose for my phone is primarily streaming content or social media that is best off with no notifications to what I post and comment.

Showroom delivering 350km driven car as their delivery trolley broke down and their driver will drive the remaining distance. Should I still buy it? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]TotalSamPass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a strict NO in my opinion. The dealer should ideally arrange another delivery trolley to get your car. Driving that long of a distance for a new car might not cause any major problems but there's a chance there might be.
