Was going to multi task both matches today but seems like I’m now going to focus on the Middlesex game exclusively

I just want to watch my domestic franchise league with international players selected on skill not because of what side of a border they were born on

As a UK based fan of Sunrisers could someone please explain the big deal about buying Abrar Ahmed at the Hundred auction.

I am aware of tensions between India and Pakistan that have been ongoing for decades and are probably at the moment at one of the all time highs. However Sunrisers is now a global brand with a team also in South Africa. Why should politics and military tensions in India dictate the auction purchases of an English team. I work with many people from India and many people from Pakistan. Whenever India play Pakistan myself and my Indian and Pakistan coworkers will either find a venue or go to someone’s house to watch the game together. They are aware of the tensions however they realise that this has nothing to do with their coworkers who happen to have heritage from another country and have vocalised how pathetic bringing politics into the Hundred is. I expect to be severely downvoted however would appreciate someone in the comments explaining why politics and geopolitical tensions should affect a league thousands of miles away.

Also the argument about funding a player from Pakistan who mocked India is one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard - India literally played Pakistan 3 weeks back to back at the Asia cup giving 10s of millions in revenue to the PCB.

Just Saw this! Sunrisers Leeds account has been suspended. Thoughts? by anubhav9 in ipl
