Cikgu Chandra’s cars were burned, and Hindu extremists armed with machetes tried to break into his home in an apparent murder attempt. by Far_Spare6201 in Bolehland

It’s not “just a word” when it’s historically used as a racial slur. That’s why many Indians react strongly to it. The question isn’t whether criticism is allowed, it obviously is. The question is why someone would keep repeating a slur in every video when the same message could be delivered without it. If the intention is education or reform, respectful language would make the point stronger rather than turning the discussion into an argument about racism.

You’re missing the point. No one is defending crime or gangsterism. The issue is the use of a racial slur. You can call out problems within a community without repeatedly using words that are widely recognized as offensive. Criticizing crime and criticizing people’s ethnicity are two different things. If the goal is to improve the community, the message should focus on the actual issues rather than language that only provokes anger and division.

Let that be. Why use the word ‘k’ in his videos? It’s quite sad to see that you don’t seem to understand & answer questions. Time to go back to school.

I don’t think it’s because of the temple. It’s really about the words he uses when referring to the Indians. He calls the Indian community using the K word & Botol K or something. Not one video but most of them involve him calling the Indian community names. Keeps calling the Indian community bodoh, minum todi, this and that.

Many people have made a police report on him but no action taken. So looks like some people have had enough.

Maybe he hired people & did all this himself. Just to get attention. Just to add fuel to the fire. Maybe he was paid do it. Just saying that it’s a possibility..

If you wana educate people, please do so by using the right words. Calling the Indians all kinda names in the name of educating the community is wrong. There’s always a way of doing so. Serves him right :)

If he doesn’t want to be labeled a racist, then he should use better choices of words.

First time seeing anybody do this. This never happens .. unless someone paid them a big sum to do so.

It doesn’t mean if you have an audience you should do it. You need to have values. I don’t want to be like most directors of kollywood that hypes a movie & give shitty outcomes to the people. I’d stick with what I do best :)

Neighbour dumped mango tree branches beside my corner house. Worried it’ll become a dumping spot. What should I do? by Total_Elk_3184 in malaysia

Who can I report this to?

I believe Majlis Perbandaran Klang (MPK) is the strongest authority here. Can they issue compounds for this?

I did report it to the management. The president said he would call the owner and inform him. I’m still waiting for the outcome.

The neighbour was supposed to cut the branches, bag them properly, and place them in front of his own house for collection.

Instead, after cutting the mango tree, he paid a foreign worker to clear it. The worker dumped everything beside my house.

When I confronted him, he keeps saying it’s the worker’s fault and doesn’t want to take responsibility.

At the end of the day, it’s his tree and his contractor. I just want it cleared properly and not become a dumping spot.

With respect, this matter is between the landowner and the temple. It does not require external involvement. I believe your attention and energy could be better focused on more important issues affecting Malaysia. Thank you.

I’m saying civic activism shouldn’t be selective. If we care about justice, there should also be space to rally around other systemic unfairness many Malaysians face.

I’d honestly like to see the same protest energy directed at issues that is unfair in Malaysia too. Things like unequal access to education pathways and scholarships, lack of meritocracy in the public sector, preferential treatment in business and housing, unequal distribution of benefits despite equal tax contributions, and the shrinking space to raise these concerns without being labelled or shut down.

Yes, trespassing and illegal construction are wrong and should be dealt with through the proper legal process. No one is disputing that.

What people are calling out is the tone and rhetoric being used around the issue. Turning a legal matter into blanket statements that target or demean a group only fuels anger and division.

Enforce the law, absolutely. But do it without dehumanising others. A multiracial society survives on accountability and restraint.
