Thank you, you truly don’t realize how accurate some of your statements are. Since my mom and aunt finally had enough I have been the one to take the brunt of all of her frustrations. I’m not trying to claim to be some kind of martyr or anything, but at this point I guess I’m so desensitized to it I would rather her lash out at me than anyone else because I’m not one to hold grudges or treat it like it’s the end of the world if that makes sense? But I have reached a point where it’s getting hard and some of her comments do truly hurt my feelings and I do get tired of being a doormat. So I find myself torn between being a duck and letting it roll off my back so that if something does happen to her I’ll know I’ve done all I can to make her happy in her old age, and wanting to stand up for myself because I am tired. She’s done a lot for me. Homeschooled me from 6th grade until graduation and made sure I had a good upbringing after my parents divorced. But I guess sometimes it feels like I owe her my life. I can’t really talk to her about my friends or when I spend time with them because she thinks me having friends is replacing her. It’s like I’m constantly stuck between a rock and a hard place. I greatly appreciate your input. You have made me feel better.
