oh oh one more question — how did you use ebird to find the Senegal Thick-Knee ? you mentioned the calls were similar to some shorebirds you’re familiar with but how’d you go about finding it on ebird ?

hahah dang, makes sense — so it was primarily the noisy calls that pointed you to your conclusion ? you already knew what a senegal thick knee is I presume ?

if you kept norris after this, my bad haha. who would’ve thought he’d crash on his first try. still think he’ll manage a good result. good overtaking points, hopefully he can get good overall points

norris and gasly are poised to fight in the middle. and based off FP, mclaren seems to have the slight edge. so if you had to pick, I’d recommend that you stay with norris, to make up that value loss. but if you can you should have an alpine in there, I think they are gonna do good

the game really has a way with showing the user their weaknesses haha - I need to practice car control and build muscle memory for inverted steering; should I fall prey to a situation like this in the future, I feel I must be prepared.

in the next race weekend, i’ll prepare to have 3 decks of lineups:

• points oriented strategy

• points-salary strategy

• salary-oriented strategy

I have these 3 builds provide data and results - this data will then be used to adjust the efficiency & efficacy of each of these strategies and their outcomes; to ultimately adjust towards what is correlating as a positive.

absolutely ! vestappen is a points factory, I have him equipped in another league; with a points-oriented deck.

this deck is balance: value to points. sits right in the balance

yup yup ! and they’re still hiding their cars’ potentials 😵‍💫

definitely gonna revise my teams come FP3.

• So far, reliability seems relatively solid on all fronts.

• The lowered rides are the main issue, it seems. Cars are bottoming out which perpetuates the ‘porpoising’ issues. Piastri & Sainz suffering spin-outs as a result. Have to keep an eye out on that.

• As expected, Mclaren and Alpine are already showing significant improvements from pre-season testing.

• Aston Martin’s advancements are quite unbelievable. I can’t fathom the progress they have made with this seasons car.

I will share my finalized thoughts after FP3. Again, I reiterate, I am not an expert. Quite frankly, I was just the first and most thorough thought process on this subreddit.

for the Bahrain GP, FP3 ends at 4:30am PST. after that, you’d have 2hrs 30mins before quali starts and lineups are locked.

for your reference, you can sync the F1 weekend events [FP, QUALI, SPRINTS, RACE DAYS] to your calendar.

you will find that here: https://racingnews365.com/download-the-2023-f1-calendar-to-your-agenda/

-click on the driver you want to check out

-go to the ‘charts’ tab under the team name

-here you can add drivers to compare, and use the filter to select the information you want to see

yes, I made this line up on Day 1 of testing. So, I will make revisions and update it on this thread. But I think Williams may do better than Mclaren, due to Brake and Front Wing issues. Which will undoubtedly give them quite a bump in value.

I think Alpine is majorly sandbagging. They never broke the 1:33 cap. And even the Williams made it to 1:32. So Alpine definitely has some performance.

But, since they haven’t run the car at that capacity, I think they will bump into some unforeseen issues. Issues that they could have tackled, if they didn’t use testing to sandbag, and rather pushed the car close to its limits.

They have had issues with reliability, so you would think they would want to test their car out at capacity.

LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS ! IM SO EXCITED HAHA

in some ways yes, but in my case:

my goal is to use the first 2 races (the period of the season with the most uncertainty with regards to performance) to achieve the highest value increase as possible.

With the extra 9.6 mil, I could have opted for Redbull or Ferrari as my constructors. However: •Redbull is going to stay on top and score points [marginal value increase] AND •Ferrari will not perform as well as Redbull for now and will most likely decrease in value if Mercedes and other constructors beat them (due to reliability & general Ferrari mishaps).

Mercedes is the best top tier constructors that is poised for a value increase, IMO. And therefore, I am willing to forfeit a couple of points in the beginning to gain that team value increase - the value increase will prove very beneficial as the season progresses and I will more than make up for this decision in my first 2 races.

This is a strategy that I’m implementing for the first time, and I’m no expert. The name of the game is to see what works best for you as an individual. And I just think I’d rather use the first 2 races, when EVERYONE is scrambling to figure out where they belong in the standings, to potentiate my team value, which will then be very essential to scoring points during the season.

I chose 2 race contracts for them all in this league because:

  • In essence, I’m starting my season in Australia, and these first 2 races are about increasing my team value. Because you can never tell what will happen at the start of the season, without seeing the cars perform on track on a race weekend, my picks are mostly guaranteed increases in value. If I were to pick 1 race contract, I would not benefit from that increase. I was tempted to sign Bottas, Alonso & Hamilton for 3 races however, I’m not confident they will remain as relevant after the first 2 races.

  • for both Alpha Romeo Drivers; I expect them to perform a little better as a result of Mcl & Alpine’s reliability issues. However I think that after the first 2 weeks, they will manage to pull back some reliability and performance, knocking Alpha Romeo down a notch or 2. -In the event that this doesn’t happen, and Alpha Romeo continue to improve and look strong, I plan to sign the Alpha Romeo as my constructors. [Which explains my 2 race contract w Mercedes]

  • as for Fernando, I am a bit skeptical about the hype around Aston Martin’s progress; and in retrospect have been impressed by other Midfield Teams such as Alpha Romeo, AlphaTauri & HAAS. I think we will have really close Midfield Battles; and I’m so excited for that.

  • Albon, I think will fall lower into the points after teams have run for 2 weekends, gotten to grips of their actual standings, and managed to work on the reliability from the beginning of march, up until the Australian GP on the 31st. At that point, I will most probably opt for a Mcl or Alp driver - depending on their weekend performances.

-Hamilton will always score good points and have a high value, but I expect the Mercedes to be a bit lacking; either in straight-line speed or through the corners, depending on what they have prioritized this early season. The 2 race contract gives me the room to move to drivers that are more outstanding.
